“You know what we should do first?” Riley asked, finally standing up and stretching. Her Daphne costume, now stiff with dried blood, crackled with the movement. “We should stop by Walgreens.”
Wren froze, a coil of rope in her hands. “What? You want to stop at Walgreens. While we have a dead body in the Jeep?”
“Yeah, I need a new vape.”

“But we need to focus. We need a plan.”
“I have a plan,” Riley offered brightly. “Step one: don’t panic. Step two: panic anyway, but quietly.”
“A real plan,” Wren insisted, though her lips twitched. “We need to figure out how to… dispose of him.” She gestured toward the tarp-wrapped bundle that had once been Josh Bennet, local creep and current inconvenience.
“Right,” Riley nodded, trying to match Wren’s serious tone. “Disposal. Like Marie Kondo, but for bodies. Does he spark joy? No? Into the trash he goes.”
