If you’re a newcomer to the Black Hills Wolves community of Los Lobos, welcome! If you’re a long-time reader, I hope my second story will live up to the evolving world that the creative authors in this series have continued to expand. I am truly thankful for being included.
After I finished my first Black Hills Wolves story, His to Protect, one of the characters wouldn’t leave me alone. No, there weren’t any handsome hunks besides Gunnar Redmond hanging around begging for their own story. Instead, a secondary character who happened to be a seething mass of rage dared me to peel away the layers and see the real man. Ray Decker appeared briefly in His to Protect, but every character has a story and his includes a son, J.D., the hero of His to Claim.
Being an author is a little like being a detective, and with each book, uncovering secrets and discovering what makes my characters tick usually becomes an addictive adventure. Trust me, there were mornings I couldn’t wait to get to the computer. The characters took me down a few dark roads but I’m a great believer in the strength of the human spirit, and above all, love and forgiveness. I hope you enjoy their journey!

      Coming in at first place is no surprise, is the latest installment in J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brother Hood Series, "Chosen". If you survived "The Shadows" then you already know that Layla, a beloved Chosen in the vampire society, has given birth and while she should be enjoying the joys of motherhood, her heart still goes to Xcor; a traitor and one of the villainous Band of Bastards. Xcor cut things off with Layla but that hasn't stopped her heart from aching. (Get your Kleenex out now folks) Xcor has done it all. He has killed, he has stole. He barely survived the Bloodletter and his small band of misfits depend on him. The last thing he's ever thought for himself was love let alone the love of a Chosen. He's had to purchase everything in blood and bone.

   That's all you are getting from me except for that this book is one hell of a roller coaster ride. If you thought that "The Shadows" ripped the heart in two, then you haven't seen nothing yet. You will hate some of your beloved favorites and you will root for ones you never thought you would in this book. It's one of the best ones that Ward has written in quite some time.

    I told myself I wasn't going to give any spoilers, but here's one...Forget everything you thought you knew about the Chosen because Layla for all her purity and sweetness, she's total bad ass in this book. No joke. She went from Mary Quite Contrary to that Xena chick.  Oh and Lassiter has a huge surprise and I'm not even dropping that one and no, there are no ass less chaps or Elvis moments. Sorry.

Once again Elena and Raphael are thrust into not just a battle with outside forces but against themselves.
This book, like all her other Guild Hunter books are like these intricate but delicious puzzles that grabs the reader and immerses them into the story. If "The Da Vinci Code" had been this much of an adventure thrill ride with some sexiness thrown in, I might have not fallen asleep halfway through it. Maybe.



Forget about that Channing Tatum guy and get ready to not only have a cold shower ready, but your heart strings pulled with Cheyenne Meadows' Human Interaction Series. In her first three books, Shy is a recently widowed college student and gopher who is trying to raise two twin boys on her own when she finds herself at a strip club and at the mercy of one of the dancers, Meat. Meat is a shifter and aside from being the club's sexiest dancer, he's also a private eye who has no inclinations of settling down, let alone with a human woman, but Shyanne is different in more ways than one. In the first three books not only will the reader be seduced and thoroughly getting an experience way better than that Magical Mike guy, but will find themselves laughing at all the comedy with this series.

“What are you afraid of?”“I’m not afraid.” Doubt clouded her gaze. “I’m not afraid.” Her second attempt came out a whisper, as if repeating it again would make it true.His wolf wanted to comfort her. His alpha, Drew Tao, wouldn’t appreciate him putting his own needs first. He’d been tasked to be a pack protector, and at the moment, he didn’t like it much. “You were running as if you were being chased.” He softened his voice. “I need to know who or what has you so scared.”“Who are you?” Suspicion tinged her question.“Gunnar Redmond, and it’s my job to know, so you might as well tell me.”“I’ll tell the alpha. No sense in repeating it twice.”“It is if the pack is in imminent danger,” he snapped.“I had a pack of dogs chasing me. I didn’t remember the exact location of our border, but, apparently, they did. I wanted to make sure I was on Tao land before I stopped.”She’s lying. Dogs giving chase barked like mad, and he hadn’t heard anything. Interrogation was a tricky thing. Sometimes he learned more by listening. “The dogs around here aren’t usually that stupid. What did you do to piss them off?”“I’m female, you work it out.”No wonder his wolf had been rippling under his skin. “C’mon, then, I’d best get you someplace safe before I need to fight off anything stupid enough to follow you.”He had enough trouble ignoring the panting beast trying to claw its way out of him. In a few minutes, he’d need to ask for his shirt back so he could hide the evidence.Her scent beckoned the wildness inside, and one glance at her bare feet as she picked her way over the rough path stirred another desire. He scooped her up and tried to ignore her trembling. Tried to ignore the bones stretching her flesh too thin. She held herself stiffly and as far away as his arms would allow as he carried her, clearly intimidated.“I’m not going to hurt you.” He spoke in a gruff manner because if he tried to be kind, he’d end up doing something to appease the beast clawing at him and demanding more.“Unless I’m a threat,” she whispered. Any returning wolf had to be vetted. This could go either way. He’d never known Drew to be vindictive, but her father had a nasty reputation and his actions had harmed more than one family.He hadn’t known Ed Sinclair personally. He’d heard the were-bear, Gee, and some of the older wolves mention the bad old days and the men who’d followed Magnum into the kind of depravity no one liked to talk about.Ed Sinclair had been a mean-spirited bully whose temper worsened with each drink. Man, woman, or child had been fair game as long as Magnum issued the orders and supplied the booze.Try as he might, he couldn’t remember ever hearing anything about Sinclair’s family.This time of day, Drew was probably having lunch at The Den, which meant Gunnar would have to parade Luna through Gee’s bar, half-naked and filthy. He could have taken her to his cabin, let her at least clean up and gotten something to cover her, though he doubted she would have trusted him to have her best interest at heart.“I appreciate the lift, but I’d rather not be carried through town,” she growled, and he almost smiled. It had been a tiny growl.If he’d been Ed Sinclair’s offspring, he’d be trying to retain a speck of pride, too. He lowered her to the ground and winced when one of her heels left a bloody print in the dirt. She defiantly lifted her chin, and he knew he’d have a fight on his hands if he suggested she return to his arms.He needed to pick his battles with this one, or he’d surely lose a war she didn’t have any idea he was fighting.
