A wonderful walk under a January gray sky today while listening to a podcast on This American Life about delight. Turns out delight is similar to joy -- one of the inspirations of the Joyful River series.
One poet described delight as the butterflies that hover over the radiant blossoms of joy. Love that!
Of course, I just submitted a blog to Kensington about sources of joy and ways to find it. Turns out I missed a few things.
1) You need to actively search for delight each day. It won't land on you by accident!
2) Joy is best when shared. Like spotting a rainbow, and you call to your friends, "Hey, you gotta come and see this!"
I wish I could share the joy of the Christmas tree farm I pass daily, as well as the amazing view of Mount Hood on a clear day. I will try to hone my techno skills and post. You gotta see this!
