New Work

I've finally started on the follow-up to Verruca Music. It has a working title of "to nature". With no capitalisation, of course.

I'm reluctant to call it a novel. At the moment I'm unsure what it is. Maybe it's best left that way.

The Eve of Printing

Next week, the paperback version of Verruca Music will be available for your delectation. Or, if you've nothing else to hand, for use as a handy wedge stop your dining room table from wobbling.

There will be not one but two special editions. The first is the ultra-limited ultra-special edition with never-to-be-repeated surprise musical extras. The free stuff that comes with the still-special-but-not-ultra-special edition is pretty exciting too, but if the former is a sleek Bentley, the latter is a well-maintained Austin Maxi*. Or, given the number of copies there will be, a fleet of thirty well-maintained Austin Maxis. No requests for custom paint, please.

Of course, you can get the Kindle version from Amazon now - for just 69p - if you enjoy Beckett and Joyce, you might just like this.

I shall be spending the weekend attempting to get to grips with Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer, a book that has failed to capture my attention several times now...

* If you're from America, imagine some other kind of cheap family saloon car from 30 years ago.
