Inspiration is Everywhere
Inspiration is everywhere. From a song you hear on the radio to a photo you find on Pinterest, the world is chock full of inspiration.
For me, inspiration came while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is a tradition that I enjoy every year, but the 2017 parade will always be my favorite. During that parade, the cast of Broadway's Anastasia performed "Once Upon a December" and absolutely killed it! I knew that the song sounded familiar, and after doing some digging on YouTube, I discovered it was from a movie I'd been obsessed with as a kid. And once I found out that the movie was based on a real princess, I went down the research rabbit hole and became a Romanov expert.
Pretty soon, the beginnings of Rise's plot were spinning around my mind like leaves in an autumn breeze. And before I knew it, the characters were coming to life and the plot was growing. Rise had been born.
And it never would have happened if I hadn't watched that parade. So, if you're a writer struggling with writer's block, don't forget to look for inspiration in unexpected places. You never know what you may find or what all you'll gain from it!

Introducing Me!
Hello, everyone, and welcome to my first blog post!
I’m Grace Irwin, and I am a new author!
I live with my amazing family on the east coast of North Carolina, which is perfect for an aesthetic-lover like me.
Last May, I became a summa cum Laude graduate of Liberty University, where I received my Bachelor’s in English and Writing.
I’m a passionate writer and editor, a devoted Gryffindor, Italian food lover, and a Disney connoisseur. I’m also obsessed with the ocean and Stephen Sanchez's music.
I have pursued the dream to become a writer since I was eleven years old. I write to bring glory to God and hope to my readers.
My debut novel, Rise, is a Christian historical romance that ties together the stories of Queen Esther and Anastasia Romanov. Its message is one that offers healing from trauma and hope beyond heartbreak. This message is one many readers need, and one that I hope will turn them back to God. If this sounds like something you'd love to read, here is the link: Rise
I am so excited about how far I've come on this writing journey already, and I can't wait to see where it leads.
Follow along for more posts about me and my writing life and for book updates!
