Hello and Welcome to the new followers on my newsletter. It’s finally summer and we can slowly venture outside again in NJ. What a crazy year. Everything has been turned upside down due to the COVID pandemic. For those who are just getting to know me, I am a hospice physician and I’m sad to say we’ve been very busy since the pandemic started. We’re under control here now and I send all good prayers and wishes to the rest of the world!!
Now that things have calmed down in NJ, I wanted you all to know that the fifth installment in the Misty Point Mystery Series is underway!! My deadlines have been extended. I’m back at the typewriter and you’ll be hearing from Megan Stanford soon. I’m back to plotting and reading a lot of great mysteries out there. I’ll be putting out my blog twice a month with some thoughts about writing and interesting authors as well.

Midnight Shift
Midnight Shift has been released - it has elements of paranormal dreams of dead patients and is a medical detective fiction novel.
When two patients of respected surgeon, Dr. Elizabeth Brooks, die under odd circumstances, she is threatened with loss of medical privileges, a malpractice suit and financial ruin. Elizabeth is determined to discover why her patients are having unexpected complications but her anxiety only escalates when handsome Detective Jake Wagner shows up in her office looking for information as part of a criminal investigation. Distressed, she begins to dream about her dead patients. Elizabeth has dreamt of the dead before, something she experienced after being hit by a drunk driver when she was young. For years after the accident, Elizabeth resisted the dreams and kept the dead away. But now, the dead are reaching out again. Realizing she needs help to save herself and her career, Elizabeth has no choice but to welcome them back and hope that sometimes the dead can protect the living.

Book, Beaches and Brine - SinC-CJ
Yesterday was our first 2018 meeting for the NJ Chapter of Sisters in Crime – also known as SinC-CJ. It was very exciting to be there as the new Vice President. Sisters in Crime has national as well as local chapters which exist to offer networking, advice, and support to mystery writers. Members consist of authors, readers, publishers, agents, booksellers and librarians. According to the National website, Sisters in Crime was founded by Sara Paretsky and a group of women at the 1986 Bouchercon in Baltimore. It has grown considerably since then with over 3500 members and serves to promote camaraderie for all involved in the world of mystery. We’re always looking for new writers, readers and speakers!
Throughout the year, I’d like to share my literary journey by posting news of our meetings. I’d also like to promote a few of my literary sisters and their work. I’ll be posting other items related to the contents of my books as well. If you are interested in mystery, please considering attending one of our meetings or join us at one of our many writing conferences. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
