Nicole Garber lives in Oklahoma with her husband and two children. Nearly fifteen years after graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Nursing, Nicole discovered her love for writing. On her reasons for writing The Disillusioning Art Of Shell Formation, she explains, “I didn’t set out to write a book because I desperately wanted to become an author. It was the idea behind the book that drove me day and night. I wanted to write a story about eternal love and supernatural healing. A year and a half later the story developed into the book that I had in mind.”

“Someone once told me that life wasn't fair...and they were right. But I don't think that life was ever meant to be fair or perfect. It's not the tragedy, it's how we deal with it. It's whether we come out stronger because of it. It's not about blocking out the pain or hiding from it, it's about letting the pain shape you into someone better than you were before.”
Nicole Garber, Coming Apart

“I loved gesso. I loved its thick whiteness and how it was so forgiving. I loved brushing it on heavily over my marred canvas. It made the canvas look new and clean, without a single blemish. I wish they made gesso for the soul, because if they did, I would slather it on thick. I would create a new me. I, too, would be new and clean, without a single blemish.”
Nicole Garber, Coming Apart

“You forget what you want to remember, and you remember what you want to forget.”
Cormac McCarthy, The Road
