More than One

View all responsesThere are more than one cool thing that I have found and kept- well I will also include the Luron body products that I use, stationery that are so irresistible that I can barely part ways with a notebook that I love- as square and dotted as it is with a blush leather cover.
I also love the insulated thermo mug I got from Ziwa, this cute portable beside lamp- the perfect companion while reading at night, this cute shopping basket I got from Urembo Crafts Kenya.

Routine I try to skip every morning
I should start by saying that I really try to skip these but fail as often as two days or three days after:
Checking my email first thing in the morning.Spreading the bed first- sometimes I spread the bed after I’ve had a shower, sometimes I leave the duvet bundled up and snuggle in after getting a cup of coffee- this happens a lot over the weekends.Working out- those early morning stretches- I struggle.Drinking coffee before the I leave the house.

None
I have lived through experiences and some memories I hold dear- some good and others painful, yet no matter how much I look at it there isn’t an age or time in my life that I would want to go back to.
Right here, right now these words I am typing are real, I am creating something now.
I am who I am now because a compilation of all those experiences and it’s beautiful because I know not who I will be tomorrow, what I am sure of is that she will come with history.

Nothing
Better question, “Would you like to go to the moon?”
The answer is “No.”
It’d take approximately 3 days to go and 3 days to come back and it’s an out of this world experience- but no thank you, I am not interested.

Career paths I’ve Considered

View all responsesIt’s just drizzled this morning and I am listening to Reductio’s organ rendition of Hallelujah as I type this.
So, what alternative career paths have I considered or am I interested in?
Psychotherapy: Yes, I wanted to be a Counselor growing up- and I did my bachelor’s in Psychology and wanted to go on and study Clinical Psychology but as I got into working, I realized that I was more interested in Research and community Engagement.Dance: Yes, I find dancers very holistic, like how can you listen to sound and serve it in rhythm? Writing: Well, I am in this but not as fully invested as I should be to see more financial returns, I should be making more money off my written work if only I invest more in marketing- still getting there.Sketch Artist: My pencil sketches suck! End of story.Professor: Well, I am still on this journey but there is something about academia and the journey to having that PhD that scares me and I am like “Let me just stick to being curious and wandering the world.”

What alternative career paths have you considered?

The Longest Way Home
It has been a month since I received the copies of my latest book “The Longest Way Home.”
Have you ever found yourself sighing in relief after completing a project or task? This is what I felt when I finally sent out the copy to the printers- and it was because I had taken more than a year to set this out.
Allow me to introduce you to this book:
It is only 73 pages short, and has a main character named Ogolla and this story started out as a question, “what if there was a young man in search of answers and he had an attitude to boot?”
At some point he is advised:
Anger is the worst kind of spirit my son. It seems that you used it well enough to get where you are but you have come to a point where it no longer keeps you running forward. You cannot stop to cool off or look back, so to the world you are cold and vicious but you are burning inside, it’s just that everyone is busy looking and not seeing.”
I sold the first 50 copies and I am still on my close friends and colleagues neck to buy copies to read and just like that.. I look forward to growing more into this journey.
If you are in Kenya, or in Nairobi- and would like to give my books a shot, read what I wrote and what not, leave a comment here and I can share how to get a copy: it’s Kshs 350 without delivery charges.
Have a great week you beautiful soul!
