Book Signing Follow-Up

I spent a successful two days (Sat. & Sun. Nov. 23/24) at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Spokane Valley, Washington, signing copies of all five of my historical novels from the Britannia Romanus series. In fact, I sold out all copies of The Wolf of Britannia, Pt. I and had to bring in my own copies to sell (B&N will replace them for me). Met a lot of interesting people from all over the the Northwest and Western Canada. Several were returning customers, to purchase more copies of my novels, including, Amanda, in the photo below. Also, met a family from where I use to live in Southern California, who are up here for Thanksgiving holiday. They bought three of my books.

As always, I use part of this time to educate people about the Roman Empire and dispel any myths or misinformation.

I want to thank store manager, Leslie, assistant managers, Elizabeth and Meera, associates John, Ashley and the rest for contributing to this successful event. This is the last session I will be participating in until early next Spring.

Book Signing Follow-up - Gilroy and San Jose, CA

The double-header @ Blossom Hill, San Jose, CA (101919) and Gilroy, CA (102019) was another success, signing many copies of my historical novels from Britannia Romanus series. As always, when signing, I educate people about the Roman Empire and dispel myths and misinformation. One person believed Hadrian's Wall and the Boudiccan Revolt happened in the same year. Not quite, how about sixty years apart.

Met many interesting people, including buyers of my novels from Hong-Kong, Scotland and Taiwan. Also, a veteran U.S. Navy corpsman, who served in the same unit I did in the USMC--small world.

I want to thank Blossom Hill assistant manager, Ally Leitzel, Associates Edward and Thomas; Gilroy store manager, Camille, assistant managers, Melissa and Scot Smith, and associates, Jesse and Savannah for contributing to the success of both events.

I will return to these stores for encore signings late Spring, 2020.

Next signing @ Yoke's, Liberty Lake, WA, Nov. 1st. Details to follow.

Book Signing Follow-Up

Book signing follow-up success @ Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Spokane Valley, Washington (Oct. 12/13th) For me this was a wonderful two days of signing at my "home store," where the staff treats as if I were part of the "family." Met lots of interesting people, passed out flyers and signed many copies of the Britannia Romanus series historical novels. One of my goals, beginning with the first signing (I lost count after 100) is to educate and dispel misconceptions and myths about the Roman Empire. I had a real whopper to deal with this weekend. A gentleman firmly believed that Ghengis Kahn and the Mongols fought the Germans and Romans along the Rhine in the First Century A.D. Oh, really? I had to enlightened him. The Mongols may have fought the German Teutonic Knights and their allies in Europe in the 13th/14th century A.D. But they did not fight the Germans let alone the Romans in the First Century.

I want to thank Store Manager, Leslie, Assistant mangers, Meera, Elizabeth, Assoc. John B. and the rest of the B&N staff for contributing to the success of these events.

Next events: B&N, San Jose, CA & Gilroy, CA, Saturday/Sunday, Oct. 19th/20th. More details to follow.

Book Signing Follow-Up

Book signing follow-up success with a twist (literally). And no, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Kennewick, Washington, does not sell snakes or other living creatures. I have conducted more than 100 book signings and have met many interesting people from all walks of life, but yesterday, October 5th, while conducting a signing at this store, I encountered one of the more unusual in my experiences. She is "Neph" the snake lady (short for the Egyptian queen, Nefertiti) and her friendly female boa constrictor, Mooshoo. Apparently, they are frequent visitors to the store. "Mooshoo is very well mannered," Neph said.

I stroked the snake on its head and jaw and she darted her fork-tongue in and out like flashes of lightning. "You have made a new friend, Mooshoo likes you," Neph said.

I guess that's a good thing. Had to take a photo of her and Mooshoo.

This was a very successful signing and I sold lots of books. Event coordinator, Emily (friend of Neph) said, "You are one of our best local authors, and it was such a pleasure having you here." I will return Spring, 2020, for another encore.

I want to thank Store manager, Rich; Event coordinator, Emily; Assicuate, Seth, and the rest of the staff for making this a successful event. And thanks for stopping by, Neph and Mooshoo.

Yesterday, Saturday, Sept., 28th, I completed another successful event @ Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Northtown Mall, Spokane, Washington. Passed out flyers and met a lot of interesting people, including a family who had recently moved here from Coventry, U.K. They were very interested in my novels from the Britannia Romanus series. In the process, I sold many copies of my books.

I want to thank store manager, Hilde, assistant managers, Bryan and Kelsie, and all the associates who contributed to the success of this event.

Next Saturday, I will sign at Barnes & Noble, Kennewick, WA. More details to follow.

Book Signing Follow-Up

After last week's less than stellar performance, the signing at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Silverdale, Washington (Bremerton/Puget Sound area) was an unqualified success. I met lots of interesting people, including a family from Australia, gave out lots of flyers and signed many copies of all five of the books in my Britannia Romanus series. To say the least, management was very pleased.
I want to thank store manager, Rebecca, Events Coordinator, Amy King, and the rest of the associates who contributed the event's success. I will be returning in April for another encore.

Book Signing Follow-Up

Book signing follow-up. One success and one dud. This last weekend, I conducted book signings at Yoke's Fresh Market (Friday 13th), Liberty Lake, Washington, and EntertainMART (Saturday, 14th) Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Friday the 13th was a lucky day as I conducted a successful book signing at Yoke's, but unfortunately, a dud at EntertainMART. I will return in the future for another event at Yoke's, but It's doubtful I will return to EntertainMART. Things happen.

I want thank the staff at both stores for allowing to sign, but especially, a big thanks goes to Yoke's store manager, Harold, and assistant manager, Alex, and store associates for contributing a successful event at this store.

Next signing: Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Silverdale, WA, Sept. 21st. More details to follow.
