Imagining Gay Paradise on its way
Good news....my publisher tells me that the initial runs of both the hardback and paperback of "Imagining Gay Paradise" are now printed and making their way out from Hong Kong to SE Asia, the United States, and Europe.
Romantically I imagine the copies finding warm spots on bookshelves in stores across Bangkok, Singapore, Amsterdam, Leiden, Ubud (where Walter Spies fashioned his and the rest of our images of Bali), and, of course, my home town of Seattle.
More realistically, I know many will be waiting in warehouses for online sales and distributions.
And, perhaps most importantly of all in the digital world of publishing, Amazon has already "Kindle-ized" the book and it's being delivered to folks immediately.
Not quite the "new book smell" but definitely more accessible. I'll be sharing my reflections about this book's journey here (and on Facebook, of course).

Like Odysseus, everyone looks for home -- often leaving one to imagine a new one constructed from geographies, relationships, or ways of communicating.
