Chicago native Sue Baer holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in counseling. After teaching, she was in practice as a therapist, then went on to study cooking in the US and Europe, teach cooking classes and work as a food stylist.

Sue’s true delight, however, is writing for children, inspired by her young friends and five grandchildren. Prior to "Just Elliot!" she has written five children’s books in private publication, a published, interactive workbook ("Kidsupport") for children of deployed soldiers, used by counselors in school systems, and three picture books, "A Bear in the Air", "The Grumbly, Rumbly Thunder", and "Bears, Bears, Everywhere!" available in book stores and gift shops across the country. ...more
