I was born in the 80′s and I grew up on a farm just outside of Canberra, Australia. We had 2,500 acres of land and we made a living by raising sheep and selling their wool.

I went to school, I made friends, I lived in New Zealand as an exchange student, and I somehow managed to get good grades despite my considerable efforts to the contrary. I have a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and I now work in the Software Engineering industry.

I like my sport, I like my reading, I like my computer games. I am a nerd/geek/whatever it is that likes Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror. I like cooking, fine wines and long walks on the beach (obviously)

I met my wife in 2006 and we were married in 2010. She is my best friend

Beyond: Two Souls – It’s All About The Experience

Beyond: Two Souls

Beyond: Two Souls is the latest game from David Cage and the team at Quantic Dream. I really enjoyed Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain (I never played The Nomad Soul) so my expectations were reasonably high for this game, and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. Before I go any further I will say that Beyond: Two Souls, like its predecessors, is a title that challenges the standard definition

Islington sticks the landing with this trilogy. A big epic battle, plot threads weaving together, payoff for things set up in the prologue of the first book.

As a final book in the trilogy I thought it was a little too big, slow in a few places, intr

A truly frustrating read. Pros are that it was immediately relatable with stories that made me feel seen, it had a good chapter discussing the details of different ADHD medications on the market, and there was a constant theme about treating people w ...more

Absolutely stunning book. One of the best books I’ve ever read, and I may need a day or two to fully process it.

The premise we get told on the cover is that this book is a mystery about a woman who washes up on an island. And that is true - the myst

My opinion - this is one of the better Matthew Reilly book in years

Matthew Reilly books have always been high octane action from start to finish with larger than life characters overcoming the odds with highly visual set pieces.

You get 4000 weeks of life if you live to 80. That’s the statement that underpins this whole book. It’s not really self help book, it’s not really a productivity book, in fact it doesn’t really know what it wants to be, which I guess is thematically ...more
Ryan Lawler is 66% done with Four Thousand Weeks: Ughhhhh this may be the last “self help” book I read. This is not self help, this is just observing the obvious and then restating the obvious in different ways.

Ultimately good themes though. Yes hustle culture sucks, yes the pursuit of endless productivity is toxic.

Honestly this guy needs to be tested for ADHD
