A widow, Maxine Douglas resides in Oklahoma, where she has rekindled her childhood love of American westerns. Between her late husband and herself, she has four children, two granddaughters, a great-granddaughter, a great-grandson, and a very affectionate grey and white Tabby named Simon. And many friends she now considers her Oklahoma family.

Maxine writes American historical, contemporary, paranormal, and cozy mysteries with romantic elements.

I go somewhere else to write. For example, in finishing Simply to Die For last June, I found that going to either the park (until it got to darn hot here in Oklahoma to at the park during the day) or McDonalds worked wonders!
Sometimes a change of scenery really helps.

Also, I have gone back to "old school" where I start writing in a notebook with a pen/pencil. There's something about physically putting the words to paper that makes it personal.

It's An Author's Life

Labor Day weekend, aka the last camping weekend of the season. At least it is in my home state of Wisconsin. The two biggest weekends for camping there are Memorial Day and Labor Day. Whether you tent camp or have the comforts of an RV/camper, I hope you’ve enjoyed the last hurrah of summer before fall really sets in.

Who knew windsurfing could be dangerous
