Dawn Husted is the author of young-adult books written with romantic and dark twists. She was nominated as a panelist for Teen BookFest by the Bay V and is a member of SCBWI. Dawn’s written for online publications, such as Mother’s Day Magazine and A Backpacker’s Tale, and print magazines, such as Insite Magazine. When not writing, she's either camping or dreaming about hiking, minus the 100°F heat. She lives in central Texas with her husband, two kids, a feisty black cat, and an adorable golden retriever.

Among her many interests are sweet tea, wall calendars, kayaking on the rare occasion, acquiring another bookshelf that matches her old one, the color gray, and motivational quotes.

The main character is a cheerleader who is being haunted by the ghost of her best friend. The best friend was murdered by the notorious Creekside Killer. The MC is desperate to find the killer in an effort to stop her friend from haunting her. But the killer is closer than he appears.

I'm also working on a short-story prequel to Scythe of Darkness. It's written from Thanatos's POV, and is a blast to work on!(less)

(She's an outside/inside cat that we rescued a few years ago from the ditch in our neighborhood.) After feeding her dinner, we close the door to her room. Somehow, at least once or twice a week, the door opens and she comes prancin' out into the house. Either our cat has grown opposable thumbs, or a ghost is opening the door, or who knows, your guess is as good as mine. LOL(less)

Ember of Night Book Review

At the end of another YA book I was reading, there was a preview of Ember of Night by Molly E Lee. The preview was good and interesting, and it contained a supernatural/paranormal element that I liked, and it was a YA too.

When I finally got a chance to order it, I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Sara Burr Hi, Dawn!

Thanks for the invite. I read your post about the review. Don't let it get you down. It's been said by numerous people that you aren't an author until you've received a poor review. Shoot, even the Harry Potter books have received them.
