Weekly Word Count: 7/8/20

Word Count: 0

What story I’m currently working on:

I haven’t written all week, but I’m okay with that. I now have two books to edit, so I need to reroute my focus before I start into anything else. Plus, I’m super busy with editing clients as well. I am trying to figure out what books to dive into next, which is tough to navigate. I was halfway through Eros Tales #3, which makes me think I should dive into that next, but I also have the final Discord’s Desire book to write as well as the next book in the Outlaws series.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I started heavily into the editing of Rehoboth Pact #2, since I need to get some of it off my plate. Once I finish with that one, I should be able to jump immediately into Rehoboth Pact #3 since I already started getting beta reader input on that one! I’m antsy to find a home for that series, mostly because I’ll have a full completed series ready to send out once Confined Desires finds a home. Last Friday was super fun as well, with Tempting Ballad coming out!!! It marked my first LGBT romance published.

Line of the week:

Chelsea pursed her lips into a knowing grin as she slipped the sides of her flimsy black skirt up higher and higher along those perfect thighs that Kyle would kill to bury herself between. Goddamn, this woman was a pure fantasy, and now she was single.

Straight. Chelsea Moore was straight, which meant she’d forever be that—a fantasy.

Chelsea whipped her sultry strands around as she flipped her skirt up, revealing black lace panties—fuck, not helping. The song began to kick into a crescendo, those lusty vocals matching the provocative moves that this woman kept upping. If she full-out stripped on stage, Kyle was pretty sure Aubrey would burn this place down. Though Selina was right. Both of the Moore girls were sticks of dynamite, and this divorce had lit Chelsea right up.

Guys in the next booth over were whistling louder than ever, nearly hanging out with their jaws dropped. Kyle couldn’t really blame them—the woman was an inferno that made her want to burn to ash.

Tempting Ballad is OUT!!!

Tempting Ballad is OUT!!!!

One hot night together was all Renn and Leo shared, and neither expected to see the other again.

However, when Leo Kincaid shows up after one of their gigs on the other side of the country, Renn’s intrigued. When Leo produces information on Renn’s missing sister, he’s ensnared. Leo needs an alliance from an Unseelie family, a rival to those who kidnapped Renn’s sister. It’s enough dangled bait to ditch the band, and the sparks between them are immediate and incendiary.

On their own, they don’t stand a chance of retrieving his sister, but luckily for him, his bandmates aren’t the giving up sort. Together with the Discord’s Desire crew, they prepare for a fight against one of the most dangerous Unseelie families. However, spending so much time around Leo Kincaid is dangerous. Renn finds himself wanting something more, which breaks the pact he made long ago: never get attached.

What story I’m currently working on:

I ended up hitting 50k on Rehoboth Pact #3 and finishing the book! With my massage job opening back up again and a fair amount of editing work on my plate, I’m super busy on the editing front and haven’t even begun to think of what I’m going to work on next. That’s something to mull over for sure. I’m guessing my word counts will be fairly low for the next few weeks, but I’m hoping to be able to dive into something soon.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’ve been doing a little bit of line editing on Rehoboth Pact #2, and then I’ve already started getting some responses and feedback in for Rehoboth Pact #3, so I’ll probably be editing them in tandem for the month. I’m also pretty loaded with my work-editing jobs. Regardless, I’m super, super excited Tempting Ballad comes out in a FEW DAYS, and I’m super excited after all the work I put into that book. Renn and Leo’s story is scorching, and I adored writing the pair.

Fuck, and she missed Chelsea, so damn much.

Her apartment felt emptier than it normally did, so many spaces that Chelsea had just filled up whenever she came over, which had been all the time. In a short month, she’d gotten so used to having Chelsea around all the time, whether she was coming over to visit, they were going out together, or simply texting each other throughout the day. A dozen and one times she’d considered just messaging her and calling a truce, that she didn’t mean any of it.

This loneliness was consuming, aching, and devastating.

This loneliness felt a lot like grief.

Weekly Word Count: 6/26/20

Word Count: 22002

What story I’m currently working on:

Welp, I forgot to update this on Wednesday, so I’m a bit further on the writing front than usual. Also because I just wrote a ton in this book in a week. I’m nearing the end, and it’s delightfully fun. I hit 44k in Rehoboth Pact 3 and it’s still not done, which means this book is going to be the longest of the trilogy. I think that works perfectly though, each novella being a smidge longer. Kyle and Chelsea’s romance was hoooot. And they’re both sorta tough nuts to crack with a Taurus/Scorpio romance. I really enjoy that pairing. It’s going to be so tough to figure out what to work on next…definitely a work project, aka continuing one of my series.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I started into some of the line edits for Rehoboth Pact #2 for funsies, but my week’s been pretty loaded with editing work. Plus, I’m enjoying writing the third book a ton. I’ll probably wait on serious edits until my third and final book is completed. ALSO, Tempting Ballad comes out NEXT WEEK, and I’m so pumped for this release. It’s such a fun, sexy, weird story, like all of the Discord’s Desire books. That series is a lot more work for me because of the complicated twists and overplot, but it’s honestly one of the ones where I let my characters do the weirdest shit.

Line of the week:

“Fuck reasonable,” Kyle murmured, her voice soft. “I’ve been thinking about you taking me all week.”

With Chelsea, the sex was more intense than any she’d experienced, but her need for this woman was ravine deep—far more than physical. When she was around her, for a few brief moments the insecurities faded away. She’d felt awkward and gawky in her body for so long, like she was coated in shame at her presentation to the world. Chelsea silenced those voices with the way she touched, the way she claimed, the way she possessed. The relief was monumental.

Chelsea pivoted to tug on the belt loops of Kyle’s jeans, bringing their bodies flush together. “Look at you, sweetheart, talking all sexy-like. You’re already so irresistible that I’m tempted to just strip you down here and eat you out on the steps.”

Weekly Word Count: 6/17/20

What story I’m currently working on:

Just reached 22k in Rehoboth Pact #3, and I definitely know where I want this story to go. Kyle and Chelsea are a mess of complexities, and I’m really enjoying the ride so far. I’ve been headfirst into this series for the entirety of quarantine, so it’ll be really weird once it’s done. Then I’ll have to figure out what’s next on the agenda–it should definitely be continuing one of my series, whether it’s Outlaws, Eros Tales (soon to be Charmed in Charleston), or the final Discord’s Desire book.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, I do have plenty of feedback to start editing Rehoboth Pact #2, but I’m in such a swing with writing the third book that I don’t want to put it on pause. I’ll probably wait another week or two before diving into those edits. I got the cover and finished edits for Tempting Ballad, which is perfect because the book is coming out on July 3rd! I’m pretty damn excited for this release. And then next on the agenda is Waking for Winter in September, and I think that’s it for my releases this year, unless something drastically changes. That’s okay though, because I’ve got a bunch of completed works just waiting for homes or releases that’ll hit next year, so hurray! (Like my whole Rehoboth Pact trilogy lol)

Line of the week:

The guy smelled like he’d drowned himself in Nautica Voyage, which mixed horribly with his leather pants and sweat combo he was toting along with him. The man was all muscles and annoyance, the exact sort of fucker she’d been looking to avoid at the usual bars. She tended to draw frat guys and assholes in like ants to sugar, and she wanted to know how to turn that shitty ability off.

Kyle had gotten quieter the moment he sat down next to them, and all Chelsea wanted to do was scream that she had no interest in this jackwad.

“How do you know you wouldn’t like switching if you’ve never tried being a submissive?” The guy asked in a rich voice that attempted cocky but came out more like a whine.

Chelsea pursed her lips, her nose wrinkling on instinct. “Just like you know you wouldn’t want me shoving an eight inch dildo up your virgin ass,” she shot back. She couldn’t tell for sure, but her instincts were screaming that he was the sort who clung to his fragile masculinity like a baby blanket, using the title of Dom to get domineering with women, not dominant.

World of fucking difference.

Tempting Ballad Cover Reveal!

The cover for Tempting Ballad is heeeeere!!!! And just in time for the book to release on July 3rd!!!

Weekly Word Count: 6/10/20

Word Count: 9098

What story I’m currently working on:

I hit 11k in Rehoboth Pact #3, mostly because it’s been an absolute blast to write and Kyle and Chelsea are just popping off the page. I adore the two of them so far, my shy, awkward Taurus and my brazen Scorpio. Once I finish this trilogy, I’ll have a choice on my hands–whether to finish Eros Tales #3, start Outlaws #2, or dive into the final Discord’s Desire book. It’s going to be a game time decision, I think. Either way will be a lot more thought/planning involved, at least with the latter two. My Discord’s Desire series is at the culmination of all their plotting to overthrow society, and the Outlaws series requires a lot more planning ahead due to heists.

What I’m editing/marketing:

The beta feedback is already rolling in for Rehoboth Pact #2, so I’m probably going to start editing it next week, which is wicked fast. I got the first round of edits in on Tempting Ballad, which is exciting. It should mean the book is coming out sooner rather than later. I’m currently in a marketing lull, because I don’t know when Tempting Ballad is coming out yet? I think late June or July. After that will be Waking for Winter in September, capping off my Philadelphia Coven Chronicles series! As for Midnight Heist and Of Alchemists and Arsonists, I have no idea when the first book will come out and as for the second, it’s slated for January of next year!

Line of the week:

The door creaked open, and Ky stepped inside. The woman looked a little lost as she scanned the tables, her short auburn hair rumpled from the wind, and her cheeks pink from the chill outside. Chelsea’s adrenaline kicked up a notch, something she willfully ignored as she lifted her hand to wave. The moment Ky’s gaze snagged on hers, those hazel eyes crinkled with one beautiful smile.

Chelsea was used to a world of guarded expressions, smooth comments, and extra doses of sarcasm, but there was something different about Kyle Walker. The woman might hide behind awkwardness and fumbling, but when she smiled at her—holy hell, it was enough to knock the breath from her chest. Not a sensation she was used to in the slightest, and probably one she should examine a bit more if she were honest with herself, which she rarely liked to be.

What story I’m currently working on:

Eros Tales is still hanging tough at 33k, and I’ll probably get back to it once I’m done my Rehoboth Pact Trilogy. Right now I’m really jive-ing with these girls and I’m stoked to maybe have a completed series to pitch. At this rate, I may be done writing the series by the end of the month. (A bit easier than normal, because it’s a novella series) I finished Rehoboth Pact #2 at 45k and I already started Rehoboth Pact #3 at 2k. I’m so excited to dive into these characters. Kyle is so precious and I want to protect her so badly.

What I’m editing/marketing:

On the editing front, I haven’t tackled anything of my own yet. I just finished Rehoboth Pact #2 and am waiting for some beta feedback before I dive in, and besides, I’ve had plenty of work from my own clients to handle. As for edits I’m waiting for on publishers, my slated projects are Tempting Ballad, Of Alchemists and Arsonists, and Midnight Heist!!! I’m so excited for all three books, because they each mean different things. Tempting Ballad will be my first LGBT book published, Of Alchemists and Arsonists will conclude my series, and Midnight Heist will be the start of my first LGBT series!

“The dark side of ‘It’s Raining Men,’” Chels murmured, snagging her bottle of beer and taking a swig. She pursed her lips, her gaze going distant for a second, fast enough that she’d almost missed it. “If I wanted a drooling frat guy, I would’ve stayed with my husband.”

Kyle’s grip on her drink tightened, and that impulse had her opening her mouth before she could help herself. “I’m not going to ask if you’re okay, because I’m sure you’re sick of hearing that. But if you need a breather, or if you need to talk, I’m here.”

Chelsea’s lips quirked for a moment and that intense stare rolled over her like a crack of lightning. Kyle swallowed, hard.

Chelsea nudged her thigh against Kyle’s. “You’re too damn sweet to be my sister’s best friend. I bet the women who eat you out get a toothache.”

Kyle spluttered mid-sip on her drink, almost spraying the liquid all over the table. Her cheeks flushed, the heat spreading whole body in seconds. She didn’t even know how to respond to that, so she just ducked her head and knifed her fingers through her hair. “Yeah, considering the epic dry spell I’m in, I highly doubt it.”

Midnight Heist is Under Contract!

If you’re a fan of Leverage, Batman, and Robin Hood, this new queer romance series is for you.

Midnight Heist, book one in my Outlaws series, was picked up by Hot Tree Publishing!

Grif Blackmore’s team of thieves, the Outlaws, takes down wicked corporations and nabs fantastic paydays. However, when their latest heist fails, they end up in debt to the mafia, which puts the pressure on for their next job targeting Torres Industries to go off without a hitch.

Except the CEO of Torres Industries, Danilo Torres, happens to not only be dead sexy but unaware of his company’s corruption. When the sparks flare between them, Grif can’t help but fall for his mark.
