Write

poetry

A poem for those who write from the quiet margins—where voices go unheard, and still, the fire burns. This is for the ones who shape memory into language, who write not for applause, but to survive the silence.

Not All Silence Is Empty

Poetry By Debashis Dey

I wrote these lines recently, outside the pages of The Edge of Listening, but they echo the same themes I keep returning to—memory, quiet, presence, and the unseen bonds between nature and the self.

My upcoming book is built on that edge where sound falls away and listening begins. If these words resonate with you, I think you’ll find something waiting for you in the poems as well.

On some mornings, she’s the hush of rain. On others, wildfire in silk.

The Edge Of Listening

There are women who move like poetry—
Soft-spoken, but never silent.
Fierce, but never for show.

This piece isn’t from my upcoming book, but it speaks to the spirit that runs through much of what I write—of quiet strength, of duality, of being wholly yourself in every form you take.

Because we are not made by what we wear,
but by what burns inside us.

There are places where silence isn’t absence

✨ “There are places where silence isn’t absence; it’s presence…”
From The Edge of Listening

This is one of the lines that stayed with me long after I wrote it. I often feel that silence isn’t empty—it’s where everything gathers, unspoken.

🌿 What does silence mean to you?

Whispers Made Visible – Announcing My Debut Poetry Collection The Edge of Listening

The Edge Of Listening

There was a time I wasn't sure if I would ever share these poems. Not because they were unfinished, but because they felt too quiet—like whispers only meant for me.

And yet, here I am, preparing to release my first poetry collection, The Edge of Listening, in the first week of July 2025.

Each poem in this collection holds a thread of silence I have lived with: moments too fragile to speak of, memories I carried like shadows, and feelings I could never quite explain aloud. Writing them was not an act of ambition, but of listening—listening to the spaces between things, the tremble of wind through leaves, the voice that echoes long after someone has gone.

I don’t claim to be a poet in any formal sense. I have no technique to boast of, no academy to lean on. Only the weight of stillness and the instinct to shape that stillness into words.

Some of these poems arrived whole, like rain. Others came in fragments, like driftwood. They were never meant to impress, only to express—what could not be held in thought alone.

🕊 About the Book
The Edge of Listening is a collection of poems that move through memory, longing, nature, love, loss, and that unnamed space where emotions go when they can’t be spoken. The book is structured in chapters that echo different tonal shifts—from meditative stillness to aching presence, from sensual discovery to self-reclamation.

📆 Launch Details
Release: First week of July 2025

Available on:

*Kindle & Paperback via Amazon (KDP)
*IngramSpark for wider distribution
*Indie publisher and bookstores in India
*Audiobook release to follow soon

🌿 Let’s Connect
If any of these verses speak to something you’ve quietly carried, then I’ll know they’ve done their work.
And for that, I’ll be grateful.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

With silence and gratitude,
Debashis

Cosmic Trance: The Soundtrack for a Mind Reboot

Introduction
There’s music that makes you move, and then there’s music that takes you somewhere. Cosmic trance, with its hypnotic beats and ethereal soundscapes, belongs firmly in the latter camp. A favorite among those exploring altered states of consciousness—including magic mushroom trips—this genre offers more than just an auditory experience. It’s a rejuvenation ritual, a mental reboot, and, for some, a spiritual odyssey. Let’s dive into the mystical world of cosmic trance music and uncover why it’s the ultimate accompaniment to journeys of the mind.

Cosmic Trance: The Rhythm of Inner Exploration

Cosmic trance music is a genre designed to pull listeners inward. With its repetitive beats, layered synths, and cosmic themes, it creates an immersive experience that feels otherworldly. Unlike mainstream EDM, which often aims to energize a crowd, cosmic trance slows time, drawing attention to the subtleties of sound and sensation.

For those on a magic mushroom trip, the genre becomes more than music—it’s a guide. The steady tempo of trance mirrors the natural rhythm of the body, while the ethereal tones create a sense of expansiveness. It’s no wonder that playlists of cosmic trance are often described as “portals” or “pathways” by psychonauts seeking introspection and connection.

Rebooting the Mind Through Music

At its core, cosmic trance acts as a mental reset button. Its hypnotic qualities help the brain slip into meditative states, even without psychedelics. Studies in music therapy have shown that repetitive rhythms can induce a trance-like state, where the brain waves slow, and the mind becomes more open to reflection and insight.

Paired with a magic mushroom trip, this music’s effects are amplified. The complex layers of sound feel richer, the vibrations more tactile. It’s as if the music rewires your neural pathways, stripping away mental clutter and creating space for clarity and rejuvenation. Even after the trip is over, listeners often report feeling lighter, more centered, and inspired to view the world through fresh eyes.

The Cosmic Connection: A Modern Ritual

There’s something undeniably ritualistic about listening to cosmic trance. Whether in a dimly lit room, under a canopy of stars, or surrounded by nature, the music seems to amplify the experience of being alive. It resonates not just in your ears but in your entire body, syncing breath, heartbeat, and thought into a unified rhythm.

Magic mushroom trips, often described as spiritual experiences, pair naturally with this genre. Cosmic trance becomes a bridge between the external world and the inner self. It’s a soundscape for self-discovery, healing, and, for some, transcendence. Even for those not exploring psychedelics, the music offers a way to connect with something larger—a universal vibration, if you will.

Rejuvenation Without Boundaries

The beauty of cosmic trance lies in its universality. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a festival crowd, lounging at home, or hiking in solitude; the music creates a space for renewal. While some genres can feel tethered to a specific mood or moment, cosmic trance is timeless and adaptable.

In a world constantly demanding productivity and focus, cosmic trance serves as a reminder to pause, breathe, and let go. It invites listeners to shed their mental baggage, embrace stillness, and return to their lives with a refreshed perspective.

Takeaway: Music as Medicine for the Mind

Cosmic trance music is more than a genre—it’s an experience, a journey, and for many, a form of healing. Whether you’re pairing it with a magic mushroom trip or simply seeking a mental reset, its hypnotic rhythms and celestial soundscapes can offer rejuvenation like no other. The next time you feel the weight of the world, let cosmic trance be your guide to something lighter, freer, and infinitely more expansive.

Physical Fitness and Stress: How Rest and Sleep Complete the Equation

Introduction
Physical fitness isn’t just about building strength or improving endurance—it’s also a powerful tool for managing stress. But here’s the kicker: without adequate rest and quality sleep, the benefits of physical fitness can quickly unravel. This article explores how physical fitness, stress, and sleep are deeply intertwined, showing why rest isn’t a luxury but an essential part of your fitness routine. Learn how to strike the perfect balance to enhance your overall well-being.

Physical Fitness: A Stress Reliever with a Catch

It’s no secret that physical fitness is one of the most effective ways to combat stress. Exercise releases endorphins, the brain’s “happy chemicals,” which can elevate mood and reduce anxiety. A workout can clear mental fog, boost confidence, and even provide a healthy distraction from daily worries.

However, overtraining or neglecting recovery can backfire. Intense physical fitness routines, especially without sufficient rest, elevate cortisol, the body’s stress hormone. While a moderate cortisol rise is a natural part of exercise, chronic overexertion can lead to burnout, fatigue, and heightened stress levels. The lesson? Physical fitness is a stress-busting ally only when paired with adequate recovery.

Rest and Sleep: The Secret to Physical Fitness Gains

Physical fitness doesn’t end at the gym or track—it continues during rest and, most importantly, while you sleep. Sleep is when the body repairs itself, strengthens muscles, and processes the physical stress exerted during exercise. Without proper sleep, the benefits of physical fitness, like improved performance and stress relief, diminish.

During deep sleep stages, your body releases growth hormones that facilitate tissue repair and muscle growth. Sleep also helps regulate cortisol levels, keeping stress in check. Even top athletes like LeBron James emphasize sleep as a cornerstone of their physical fitness regimes. For those of us with less grueling schedules, it’s a reminder that quality rest amplifies the effectiveness of every workout.

The Stress-Sleep-Physical Fitness Cycle

Stress and poor sleep can sabotage physical fitness efforts in a vicious cycle. Stress keeps your mind racing and your body tense, making it hard to get restorative sleep. In turn, poor sleep increases stress levels and diminishes your ability to perform physical activities, leaving you fatigued and frustrated.

Breaking this cycle starts with recognizing the importance of sleep hygiene. Create a calming bedtime routine, avoid heavy exercise late in the evening, and limit screen exposure before bed. Prioritizing sleep not only reduces stress but also maximizes the physical and mental benefits of your fitness routine.

Balancing Physical Fitness, Stress, and Sleep

The key to optimizing physical fitness is achieving a balance between effort and recovery. Some days, the best decision might be to trade an early workout for an extra hour of sleep, especially if stress levels are high. On others, a light workout could serve as a mental reset.

Listen to your body. If you feel perpetually tired or stressed, consider scaling back your physical fitness routine temporarily to focus on rest and recovery. Balance doesn’t mean doing less; it means doing what’s most effective for your overall well-being.

Takeaway: Rest is the Ultimate Fitness Hack

Physical fitness is more than reps, miles, or poses—it’s a holistic practice that includes rest and sleep. By understanding how fitness, stress, and sleep interact, you can create a sustainable routine that supports your physical and mental health. So, lace up your sneakers, but don’t forget to make time for rest. Because sometimes, the most important part of a workout is what happens after it’s over.
