I appreciate your support. We’re both very well read and interested in philosophical questions. I find writing cathartic for my thinking. In a sense, my project—not unlike Nietzsche’s—is given that consciousness is a kind of evolutionary curse—what does it feel like to think? And what about language and interpretation? In the end, only art is important to me.
I have my ups and downs but will keep writing—and reading—until I can’t. By the way, read Albert and the Whale by Hoare. I’m sure you’d love it. It’s about Durer and art and world with some weird digressions including on Mann for some reason. Mann is my favorite writer and Durer is out of this world—unclassifiable. I’m sure you’d enjoy.(less)

I also wanted to write about the condition of solipsism, which I think is a psychological problem with many of us finding it difficult to connect with reality. I was influenced by two books: I’m Keith Hernandez and A Fan’s Notes, which are about our fathers. (less)
