Happy Sunday
Blessings, friends!
I know that Sunday is set aside for a day of rest, and I have been resting - most of the day. (We had four grandchildren spend the night with us last night. Fun times, but both Cecil and I are exhausted.) It's 4:45 pm, and after a nice Sunday nap, I've decided I have enough energy in me to do a little writing.
I'm working on book 2 of my Forever Freedom series, a Civil War novel . . .
Think Quaker who breaks covenant with the Society of Friends to join forces with the Union Army - and then think young woman disguised as a man signing up to do her part for the Union.
Now think of that pair meeting for long conversations around a fire, sharing skimpy meals while discussing faith and family, marching to the beat of cannon fire, gun drills, and forming a strong friendship . . . until the disturbing discovery is made that "he" is actually a "she".
What will become of their newfound bond? Will it stand up - or shatter in a thousand pieces, ending in bitterness and mistrust? Or is it possible that God had a plan right from the start - a plan that neither saw coming?
----------------
Want to come along with me on this writing journey? I'll give you little clues here and there to let you know how I'm doing - minus any spoilers, of course.
