Cursed is the Road to the American Dream
I can't think of a better day than the Fourth of July to "officially" release Cursed is the Road to the American Dream, the long-awaited prequel to Nobody Special: The Death of Johnny Salinger. I recently did another interview with Punk Globe Magazine about the new novel, this time with The Gypsy Poet. You can dig into the interview here:

How about a book trailer? Why not?! It's here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn2Qk...
What can I say about the new book? Get it, read it, dig it, how about that? I refused to finish it until it became my favorite book. It now is. I don't say that in a conceited manner, it was a goal while I was writing it. Why do you think it took so freaking long to release?!
Enjoy your summer reads. Looking forward to a few myself!

New Book Trailer
Well, the time has come to post a book trailer redux using some of the footage we shot when we were looking for investors to make the film version of the Nobody Special books. "Books," you say? Why, yes I did. The prequel, Nobody Special: Cursed is the Road to the American Dream, will be out this Summer. If you haven't read The Death of Johnny Salinger, get to it!
Namaste, Mahalo, Aloha, and many many thanks to the warm reception the book has been getting. I'm honored and humbled.
Best,
Jack

Second Edition of Nobody Special
So, what's today's news? Well, as with all things, everything comes to an end ... including 1st Editions. Nobody Special: The Death of Johnny Salinger is now in its 2nd Edition. What has changed? 2 things: Fonts that were troublesome and couldn't be worked out before the 1st publication are now as they were envisioned, and the title of a Ramones song was corrected (believe it or not, it secretly bothered me like a bad splinter that wouldn't come out). Is that all? Pretty much! I'm very happy with the changes and can move on now. Don't worry, nothing was altered otherwise, I edited nothing else out, and nothing was added. "Wow, those are all pluses, Mr. Deadmen. What's the downside?" Well, the 1st edition paperback is now officially a Limited Edition. Unless you already have a copy or find it at a bookstore that still has some sticking around looking for homes, it is otherwise only available through jackdeadmen.com where we've horded about 200 copies; 100 on white paper (a publisher's mishap) and 100 on creme colored paper as intended. What's the plus side? Every one sold through the website store is also signed and remain, as always, remain available with a CHOOSE YOUR OWN PRICE option -- shipping is 3 bucks (US ... regular shipping rates apply for overseas) and you can choose any price between $0 on up. And, yes, I'm still crazy for doing it.
Now, off to continue a long night of writing so I may bring you the follow-up book by its deadline.
Mahalo and all things good are wished upon your lovely heads. - Jack

Status of the Nobody Special follow-up, Cursed is the Road to the American Dream
Good morning, Goodreads droogs! Taking a break from editing to pass along some news. The target date of the new book, "Nobody Special: Cursed is the Road to the American Dream," is January 13, 2014. Why such a wait from the original due date? Simply, because it will be two books in one. Originally the Nobody Special series was going to go backwards, "The Death of Johnny Salinger," which, of course, is out (DID YOU GET YOUR COPY YET? Order through AMAZON, or your favorite bookstore, or at jackdeadmen.com ... which has signed copies with a "Choose Your Own Price" option ... yes, you get to choose how much you want to shell out for a signed paperback!!! Of course, it's also available on Kindle and Nook). The next release was to be Cursed is the Road, followed by a third release titled "You're Everything." Well, those two will be intertwined instead. A nice 2014 Happy New Year present for us all. What will come after that? Well, that will conclude the Nobody Special series. The next two projects are already lined up, and I'm looking forward to starting them as they've been outlined for some time -- One is a psychological thriller titled "Rhapsody," and the second is a flat out horror novel titled "Suicide X." Followers may know the latter as a former screenplay that gained interest from the Hell Raiser folks ... my former agent referred to it as The Big (Scary) Chill ... which is actually a damn good way to describe it. So, there you have it, a little update for you. Oh, and one more thing: Look for exciting news coming very soon regarding Nobody Special: The Death of Johnny Salinger that I think many of you will dig and will be a nice addition if you've already read the book ... if you haven't, then get your damn copy and READ IT!!! -Cheers! Jack (PS: Let it be noted that I have had a couple (insane?) people say I should write a book solely around "Laila the Midget" and I'm still laughing ... and considering it. Who the hell is Laila, you ask? Read Nobody Special: The Death of Johnny Salinger, man!)
