Born just after World War 2, I grew up in the Dorset countryside among cars and planes, motobikes and tractors, guns and horses.
From early childhood, I recognised their aesthetic, emotional and social significance
When I left a local public (i.e. private) school at 16, I spent my Old Boys membership fee on a well-used Tiger 110 motorcycle: 99% as fast as a Bonneville, with about 45% of the stabilitity. Way to go.
Since then, I’ve serviced electric milk floats, worked in scrapyards and on farms , rebuilt a supercharged 1934 AC, a 1930 Riley 9 and studied Architecture.
1n 1970, I joined a famous London advertising agency as a copywriter. Still love the work. Have won several awards as a freelance copywriter, creative director and journalist.
