What do you write about yourself to explain to others who you are when you feel your life has been very ordinary. Well it’s only then that you realise just how very unique every life is. I was born in the Welsh mining valleys but adopted as a small child and moved to the west country of England where I was educated, married and brought up my children.

Then redundant in the maternal role, my globe-trotting began. I worked in the Middle East for several years, had an abortive attempt at employment in the Caribbean and then spent a decade working in the City of London.
