Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, Kris wrote her first children's book, I love you I love you I love you I do. If you were a sock . . . then I'd be your shoe, while going through treatment and watching the devastation of 9.11. 2001. Words and pictures convey her desire to protect, nurture, grow roots and give wings to children.

Thriving twenty years now, she's written, illustrated, and independently published six children's books and two stand-alone novels, FADE TO BLACK & WHITE and I WISH MY WORDS TASTED BETTER, winner of the 2020 SPARK Honor Award for excellence in independent publishing for children, in the Novel category.
