The Lower Power

WHEN EVIL PULLS YOU BACK FROM THE HELL YOU THOUGHT YOU'D ESCAPED.

Hi all. I'm back with a new, scary, supernatural thriller called "THE LOWER POWER," which weaves together supernatural suspense with historic events of the early 1990s. Think Demon Copperhead meets The Stand.

If you've been reading my books long, you may remember that THE LOWER POWER was an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards Semi-Finalist, and Publishers Weekly called it a “superbly written tale of urban survivors fighting to save themselves once more.”

More excellent trade reviews are starting to come in, like Kirkus Reviews, which says: “Consistently thrilling and immersive… impeccably drawn setting… A gritty, action-packed thriller anchored by a heroic duo worth cheering for.”

You can request an Advance Review Copy on Netgalley here: https://bit.ly/48E4N1O I'd love for you to read and review!

Gone by Morning

GONE BY MORNING has received yet another rave review, this time from Publisher's Weekly. Short version: " The twists and turns will keep readers spellbound."

Here is the full version, which I can share since they didn't include the amount of spoilers that Kirkus did:

"Early in Miller’s intricately plotted debut, Kathleen Harris, a 68-year-old retired madam, escapes unharmed from a Times Square subway bombing. That night at her Upper Manhattan apartment, Kathleen receives a call from Sharon Williams, a friend who used to work for her. Sharon asks if she can drop by, but she never arrives, and the next day her body is found in Queens. A neighbor of Kathleen’s, Emily Silverman, tells Kathleen she saw Sharon near their building stopped by a man. Sharon then got into his car, seemingly voluntarily. A few nights later, a raging fire, ruled to be arson, devastates Emily and Kathleen’s building. The two women begin to wonder whether Sharon’s murder and the fire are somehow related. Their efforts to uncover what’s going on put their lives in danger. Emily’s discovery of shocking secrets in her family’s past raises the tension, as do passages from the bomber’s viewpoint. The twists and turns will keep readers spellbound. Miller is off to a promising start. Agent: Susan Ginsburg, Writers House. (Aug.)"

New York Journal of Books

The New York Journal of Books has reviewed my upcoming novel, "Widows-In-Law," and said this:

“Offering insight into the workings of the judicial system, the FBI, and the underworld, this fast-paced and explosive novel is filled with intrigue. The three females live in terror and fight not only for their lives but for their due, unaware of the horror awaiting them from a man they once loved and who wronged them all for the sake of greed. In addition to the circumstances they face, the bombshell ending is completely unexpected!"

Widows-In-Law

I am happy to announce my forthcoming novel of suspense from Blackstone Publishing. The theme: After the sudden death of their husband, a first and second wife must work together or die trying.

As my publisher states: "It is a gripping tale of mothers and daughters, wives and ex-wives, broken and remade families, and unlikely partners-in-crime. Most of all it is a moving story about the women left behind to clean up the messes men make."

Publication date: February 26, 2019. ARCs are available to bloggers and reviewers at netgalley.com.

The Thirteenth Step: Zombie Recovery Now Available on Audible.com, Amazon, and Itunes

The audio of The Thirteenth Step: Zombie Recovery is now out on Amazon, Audible and iTunes. The amazing Grammy, Audie and Hugo-winner Gabrielle de Cuir has turned my satirical zombie thriller into a brand new performance piece. She was a thrill to work with, and I feel honored to have had such an amazing team.

Listen to a clip here, which I picked especially for my friends, those who are both 1) recovering addicts or alcoholics or those whose lives have ever been impacted by an addict/alcoholic and 2) addicted to apocalyptic thrillers or books in general. As you will see from the clip, it is a special challenge staying sober in the apocalypse. The Thirteenth Step: Zombie Recovery is fun for zombie lovers and non-zombie lovers alike, and you don’t have to be an addict to love it.

Grammy-Nominated Narrator to do Audio of 13th Step: Zombie Recovery

I am thrilled to share that Grammy nominee/Audie winner Gabrielle de Cuir will narrate the Audiobook of The 13th Step: Zombie Recovery. She narrated Ender's Game among many other titles. You can learn more about her at http://skyboatmedia.com. She truly brings my book to life...but thankfully not the zombies.

I am hopeful that the Audiobook will be on Audible and itunes before Christmas. I couldn't be more pleased. Gabrielle is amazing!
