K.P. Merriweather's Blog: I Wrote A Blog!

Reduced hours

Had a heart attack recently and basically I was doing way too much - working insanely long hours, pulling double shifts, stressing about work, not relaxing at all and taking time/care for myself. So now I won't be able to work much anyway. It's sad when you're in your 30s and your heart clocks out.
So now I'm just publishing one book title a year and taking much fewer reading/review/editing projects.
This sucks.
But I want to live to 150 and crapping out before I'm even 35 isn't the way to go.

Open letter: Back ta werk

After much thought, I have decided to retire from social circles to focus on my projects. I have enjoyed my time here on GR, meeting new netizens, having a banter of wits, the occasional argument, and much encouragement.

I know I can be quite salty and it's nothing anyone caused and the same goes for this new direction I have chosen.

I will finish the projects I have slated for my fellow writers here (beta reading, editing, etc) and then after that, my trolling the forums will cease.

Nothing major of negative nature happened, it's just I had a chance to get in some deep reflection and sorting out the meaning of the universe and everything in it. (is it 28?)

Keep working hard fellow authors, readers, and my few fans out there. It's been enjoyable.

Fixing stuff

Woot. Made enough sales this quarter to get janky computers fixed! Now I can finish projects for clients and my own works on time for a change. So what does that mean for you, dear reader? That means another book release!!
I have 3 slated but only one ISBN to assign... Which do I choose???

blurbs and such

After putting up Borderline I realised its poor blurb is so totally lacking. I'm so brain fried I can't come up with a better enticing one.

I'm tempted to throw an ARC and see what the reviewer comes up with. Lolz, j/k.

To that one superfan who actually likes this nutty series - don't worry. I'll get an awesome one by the time the print edition hits shelves.

fighting smashwords

AFTER 6 HOURS finally got Borderline (The Agency, #3) by K.P. Merriweather Borderline up for preorder on smashwords! Woot.

It's 2.99 USD for the time being. Once the print edition is available (15 June), the price jumps to HALF of the print edition. (Yea, that's how I roll).

So for those that somehow enjoy Erik's psychotic eff'dupedness and his quest on finding his identity, thar ya go.

WARNING: Erik's psychosis starts to ramp up a notch. Wut, y'all din't see that coming? Look at the friggin title!!!

riant fits & other news

Ooh I hate monsoon season. That means storms and my poor janky computer can't be worked on during that time. So that planned book release is on hold until June -_-

Also I'm finally out of that major funk that drove me to write the agency. Now its major pain and a half to finish the damn thing (edits blergh).

I'm not going to dial this one in since I'm so far ahead but this one will have slower release dates. That one superfan who actually enjoys it out there. Sorry ...

shaving a doorstopper into a brick

After chatting to the team on how to better sell our wares, R&D informed me my latest release was too thick for the printers again. So hacked off 350 pages and added an additional 180. After making 234 pages of cuts...

So... "Line of Fire" is split in two parts. I will call part one by another title (Borderline). These two happen in the same timeline for a change. Now I need a new blurb. yay...

working hard as usual...

OMG a somewhat positve update! =O

dint realise what day it was since I was holed up in the office hammering away on code. When I finally step outside to watch the noon news, I find my latest book release is LATE.

Anyways, getting the final edits done... I was pleased with the developmetal. Good job moving stuff around. Made the flow smoother.

"Line of Fire" has been moved to the 20th.

writing for yourself gets nowhere

Warning: depressed sober post ahead.

I write in unpopular dead genres, making books few really read. It's an uphill battle. Everyone keeps telling me to suck it up and crank out genre fiction. Then it will no longer be fun, just work. I'd like to sell more books and get paid but then there's the point of trying to make a pleasing acessible product. Ech... What a fix...

I Wrote A Blog!

I don't blog a lot. My internets are intermittent, gremlins tend to steal my phone and I'm a severe procaffienation sufferer. Also, I post when I post when my puter isn't hating. ...more
