The Journey Forward...
No shocker to anyone that it's been awhile since I posted here. If you read my last blog (and that's a big if) then you know there have been some changes in my life. As I sat in my living room this morning, cup of coffee in hand, looking out the window - I couldn't believe how fast things have changed for me. This thought brought to mind other occasions in which those some words were uttered. However, when they were uttered in the past, it was between myself and two other close friends as we sat around feverishly working on our scrapbooks. One of us would hold up a picture and then make a comment about how much had changed in a short amount of time. It would then bring on the conversation of where we thought we'd be a year from that moment. Well, a lot has changed for the three of us. Our lives have been scattered across the United States, but I'm still amazed at all the changes that continue to happen in our lives.
Growing up I always knew I'd leave small town Oklahoma. I knew there was a bigger world out there just waiting for me to explore. Well, I did it. I've traveled the world. There are still a lot of places I need to explore, and I will make it happen, but a part of me yearns to settle down somewhere. Find a place to call home. Not such an easy thing to do when you have a spirit that longs to explore. I often hear people talk about how so and so never left home. How they never made it passed the county line, but honestly, sometimes I envy those people. They look genuinely happy. I often wonder what that would feel like. Oh, don't get my wrong, I'm happy in a lot of ways, but again it's that wandering spirit that keeps me from holding my roots firmly to the ground. With that being said, Utah will end up being the longest place I've called home. Not by my choice, but sometimes we have to do what's best for the person we love the most in this world (I'm talking about my son). I would do anything to make him happy and if that means staying in Utah for another 8 years, then so be it. After that, who knows.
In the meantime, I'll keep pressing on. It's been awhile since I've finished a book and believe me it's killing me! I'm working on something new and I want to make sure it's where I want it to be before releasing it. I planned on releasing in August 2017 and that still may happen, but I can promise you I won't release it until I'm 100% happy with it. So, keep an eye open for news about the upcoming book.
In other T.L. Coulter news, I will be attending the For the Love of Books and Dublin author event in Dublin Ireland September 2019. I look forward to this event. I've said it before, Ireland is like going home for me. The land, the people, the very essence of Ireland calls to me and I'm happy to answer the call. Speaking of answering a call, I need to answer the call from my characters. They've grown restless and are now hounding me to finish their story.
As always, thank you for your support. Many Blessings to you all!

Latest Book Release, new project, and personal update.......
Latest Book Release, new project, and personal update....
I know I'm totally rubbish at keeping this blog updated. A lot has happened since I last posted on here. First, my new contemporary romance Black & Green, Always has been released. If you're looking for a new romance story to pick up, then please give this one a chance. Here is a brief description:
Ten years ago, a chance meeting on a plane brought two people together who could not deny the instant connection. A whirlwind romance whispered promises of forever. However, when one of them is forced to make a choice between responsibility and love, the choice made drives them apart. Years later, the summer spent together under the stars still burns deep within them.To the public eye, it seems that bestselling author Kendra Monroe has everything going for her. Not only are her novels doing well, but she’s just been offered a movie deal for her latest work. What the public doesn’t know is that, every day, she fights a losing battle with her heart. Every man she meets can’t compare to “him”, until she meets Duke Winston. Will Duke finally be the man to help Kendra forget about “him”, or will she be haunted forever by memories of a long-lost love that won’t let her go?
Black & Green, Always…
The next bit of news is that I'm working on a new Young Adult Fantasy trilogy. I'm really excited about this one, but I'm way behind schedule. I hope to post more about this upcoming project very soon as well as putting out a teaser of what's to come.
The third bit of news is what's kept me from not only keeping up with my blog, but also my social media postings. It's been hard to get this out, but it's time for healing and for moving forward. After 17 years of marriage, it appears that I'll be going out on my own. I guess saying the D word doesn't come as easy to me as it does to others. I'm not here to say what went wrong or lay blame. The blame can be found in both of us. Is it fixable? At this point it's not. I see a lot of posts on Facebook talking about how marriage is this and marriage is that and asking how two people give up on it so easily. Unless you've been in this situation yourself, you can't possibly understand what goes on between other people and their relationship. You never look at your partner on your wedding day and think, I'm going to be married to him for 17 years and then one of us will call it quits. The point I'm trying to make is, don't judge others for what's going on in their lives, because you never know if someday you'll be sitting in their shoes. Let me tell you, it doesn't feel so good. This blog wasn't initially intended for this type of message, but if I can reach out to others who may be going through this and help them through this, then so be it. If you're out there and you're going through this, and you seem to think your life is nothing but an emotional roller-coaster, then I'm here for you. I'm currently reading a book titled, The Breakup Bible, by Rachel A. Sussman, LCSW. I have found it a saving grace. It is guiding me through this crazy emotional time and perhaps it can help you too. Whether you're the one calling it quits or you're the one who was left, I'm here. Leave a comment on this blog or you can always reach me through my author email t.l.coulter1@gmail.com
Just remember - you're strong, you're a beautiful soul, and you deserve to be happy in life.

All right, I have to get better about blogging. Unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day, and most of mine are taken up by my real job...
Since my last blog, Memoirs of a Vampire has released, and it is so far, a readers favorite. My latest romance novel "Black and Green, Always" is set to release sometime in August. Needless to say, that I have to get my rear in gear if I want it to be published next month. A cover reveal will be announced once I set a release date.
Other news, I am doing a book signing July 9th at the Grand Opening of Booked on 25th. Booked on 25th is a new book store that is gearing toward local authors. If your in the Ogden, UT area, come by and check it out. There is a list of local authors that will be reading and signing books throughout the day.
Booked on 25th
Also, be sure and check out my latest author interview to learn more about me and my writing process...

Update on Retaliation and news of the new book...
I can't believe it's been August since I've written in my blog. I apologize for being absent as I've been busy promoting Retaliation and working on two books. The first book you know as the continuation of Retaliation. I will only do two books at this time. If I receive enough interest, I can always do another one. This was not meant to be a long story, just something fast paced and fun. I will be doing a cover reveal for Restoration in November - date TBD. Tune in to my facebook page on October 28th for the Halloween Book Hop to win prizes from not only myself, but other authors as well.
Now, on to the other news. In August, I talked about a new book. The new book is titled Memoirs of a Vampire. I don't want to give too much away of the story yet, but it's not what you think. This will be a stand alone book. The character in the book demanded that I write her story. Yes, I know, I'm borderline crazy as is every other author you'll meet. I plan on doing a cover reveal either November or December.
Release dates for both will be set in early November.
In other news, The Oracle is now available as an audio book. The Warrior is in the works for release as an audio book.
If you haven't had a chance to pick up Retaliation, here are what others are saying about it. Please check it out, and if you do, please leave a review. Thank you for your support!
Review by Jessica Johnson:
I was captivated from the first page! TL Coulter did an amazing job with the narration of each character and the story line kept me wondering what would happen next!! I loved reading this book and getting to know each character I cannot wait to find out what happens in the second book of the series!! The author gives you just enough that you can't stop reading while throwing in one twist after the next.
Clara the leading lady has been through some tough times and heartbreak and it seems like there is plenty more to come. Her past is what makes her the strong willed and minded character she has become. I will remain optimistic when it comes to her future love life and family reconciliation. I can't say it enough, the author does such a great job building up the story line with plenty of unanswered questions leaving you ready to read the next book to see what happens next.
This is not my typical read it's more suspense dystopian where usually I enjoy my fantasy books, but I loved this book!!
Review by Jolene Wilson:
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. I was very excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. The character development is absolutely perfect and the world the author created is fabulous. You will not be disappointed in the plot and love story of this book. There is lots of action, mystery, and romance. If you want a book that you can't put down and keeps you on the edge of your seat, then hurry up and READ THIS BOOK!!!

Whew! Where did the time go? It felt like yesterday I was releasing Retaliation and summer vacation started for my child. Now, I am preparing to send my son off to 3rd grade tomorrow. I took the summer off from writing for a couple reasons. One, I wanted more time with my family. Second, I wanted to catch up on some reading, and third, my regular job kept me busy traveling over the summer. Now as the new school year starts, vacations come to a close, and travel for work is slowing down, it's time to get back to writing. I am finishing up reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. It is a hard book to put down. When I get a moment, I will do a list of books I read this summer that I highly recommend.
I am either crazy or a glutton for punishment. I will be working on three books at one time. First, I have to continue Clara's story from Retaliation. I will be working on the second installment titled Restoration. The feedback I have received from readers is that they have to know what is going on!!! The second book I will begin working on is something new. As a writer, sometimes a character comes along that demands a voice. I will be releasing more information on this mystery project soon, so stay tuned. The third book will be the second installment of The Mirror of Destiny. This was the book my son and I worked on together. He and I are ready to continue the story of Hunter and his crazy sidekicks as he returns to Niberia to help Princess Tatum find her father, the king.
So much to write, so little time! I thank you all for your patience and your support. If you have read any of my books, please be sure to leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. Reviews are always appreciated.
Thank you!

With the release date of Retaliation fast approaching, I wanted to give you all a sneak peak to say thank you for your continued support. So, here it is, chapter 1 from Retaliation. Enjoy!
Release date: 1 July 2015
CHAPTER 1
It is especially dark out tonight, not even a glimmer of light from the moon can be seen. This is the perfect night to make my move. Most people wouldn’t even be able to see their hand in front of their face, but I can though. I’m wearing the night vision goggles that were given to me by Brina. She’s my instructor, my guardian, and my voice of reason. I met Brina shortly after that fateful night two years ago. But that story is for another time. Right now I have to concentrate. I’ve been watching and waiting for months to take this guy down. I’ve already taken down two of the six that are on my list. The first two were easy, they didn’t cover their tracks very well. However, this guy had. It’s as if he knew I was coming for him. But, no matter how much he thinks he’s planned for an attack, tonight I will kill him.I hear their voices before I hear their footsteps coming down the hallway. He’s not alone, but that’s not a problem for me. I just have to re-assess my plan of attack. I had a lot of training with Brina, before I ever started working through my hit list. She taught me how to think on my feet and change tactics at a lightning fast rate. I need to concentrate on the job right now, I slow my breathing and listen. They should be close now. I can hear them on the other side of the door, whispering lightly to one another. From the tone and timbre of their voices, I can tell that there are just two of them. My target and a woman. I can hear them start to make out, I roll my eyes and wait; my timing must be perfect. There is no room for errors. Their moans get louder and I hear a thump against the door, he’s backed her against it. Well, they’re certainly taking it up a notch. I feel sick to my stomach, and I find myself starting to breathe hard in anticipation. I have to control my nerves. I’ve worked too hard to give up my position now. In their current state, I’ll be able to catch them off guard easily. I hear someone fumble with the doorknob, I mentally ready myself for the attack. I want to get to them before they turn on the lights, that way they never see me coming. I quickly make a game plan, I’m going to attack the man first, mainly because he’s the largest and hardest to take down. A positive by-product of this is the fact that she will be confused by what’s going on and I can take her out in the confusion. I hear him say something to her, by the sound of their voices, I can tell they’ve been drinking. I smile to myself while thinking that this is almost too easy. As the door opens I ready myself for the attack, I crouch low to the ground and watch. I see him reach for the light and that’s my cue to move. I quickly and quietly sneak up behind him, taking him by complete surprise. I put him in a choke hold and pin one of his arms behind his back so his chances of fighting back are limited. I quickly put him to sleep, but I’m careful not to kill him just yet. The moment isn’t quite right. I want him to see him, I mean really see me before he dies. I want him and all the rest of them to know whose taking their last precious moments of life away. I want them to know who their killer is. These are the men that the so called “soldiers” of the capital can’t touch. Men that have killed and hurt so many people, including me. I want to put them six feet under where they can’t hurt another person, ever again. I look toward the woman, she’s screaming now. She has no idea what’s going on or if I’m going to kill her. I quickly grab her, putting her to sleep as well. I hope her screams haven’t drawn attention to this room. I look down the hallway, assessing the situation, but I don’t see or hear anything out of the ordinary. I return to the unconscious man, and get to work. First, I tie him up, and then I take care of her. I give her an injection in the arm, tomorrow she’ll wake up with a massive hangover, but with only minimal recollection of tonight’s events. Brina supplied me with these little cocktails to help erase the minds of innocent bystanders, such as this woman. I try not to use them if I can help it, but tonight is one of those nights. I quickly drag the woman’s body into the stairwell where she’ll remain until she’s discovered in the morning. I walk back into the room with a glass of cold water that I got from the bathroom in his office, and I throw it in his face to revive him. He comes too groggily, looking around the room slowly. His eyes grow wide when he sees me standing over him. I can see his mind working, he’s trying to figure out who I am, why I’ve captured him. He begins to panic when he realizes that he can’t talk or move. I’ve covered his mouth with tape and tied him pretty tightly to a chair. After letting him stew for a bit, getting more panicky with each passing second, I finally speak. “There’s no use in trying to get free. I hate to pat myself on the back, but I tie a pretty mean knot. I’m sure you are wondering why I attacked you and tied you up. Well, you’ll find out in due time. Now, before I introduce myself, or should I say, reintroduce myself, you need to understand that you had this coming. You need to realize that you attacked the wrong couple that night.”I walk over to the light switch and flick on the lights. It’s time to let the scumbag sitting in the chair know who I am. I turn back to face him while I slowly pull my mask off, uncovering my face and hair. Recognition shows all over his face, and his eyes grow wide with fear. He panics, it’s as if he’s seen a ghost.I ignore his panicked look, and resume my story. “So, as you can see Mr. Bentley, I am in fact not dead, but very much alive. I’m here to make you pay, and pay you will. You murdered Johnathan Blake, and I will have revenge.”Now that he’s seen me, and knows just what crime he’s dying for, I’ll torture him a few more minutes. Then I’ll kill him and make my escape. I already have it all planned out. I always survey the buildings inside and out before going after the scumbags on my list. I taunt him for a few more minutes as planned. I tell him how I over-powered his other two friends, and what the next three have coming. I will hunt them down for the rest of my life, if that’s what it takes to get the retaliation I desire. I soon grow tired of toying with him. With my mind made up and my face a steel mask, I walk up to Kristopher Bentley and punch him hard, directly in the face knocking him out cold. I do it for no other reason except that it felt so good to hit him. I quickly inject him with a serum that will stop his heart.I wait until I can no longer hear or feel his heart beating. I grab his wrist and check his pulse just to make sure he is dead. I don’t bother to untie him. I want him to be found just like this. I want him to be a message to the others. I want them to know that they’re being hunted, and there is nothing they can do about it. I shoot one last glance in Kristopher’s direction, then walk over and turn off the lights. It’s now time to make my escape. I only make it halfway out of the building before I realize that something is wrong. I feel a tingling sensation on the back of my neck; I’m being followed. How is this possible? Did Kristopher have someone watching over him? It shouldn’t be possible. I was nothing, if not thorough. If it were Kristopher’s men, then surely they would have stepped in to help him. I try not to panic. I steel my nerves and decide the best course of action is to follow through with my escape plan. If I move as fast as possible, I should make it out before they can ever catch up to me. I realize my mistake much too late. I’m so focused on the person I hear following me, that I don’t see the person that comes up on my right. I feel a blinding pain on the right side of my skull, my last conscious thought before the world goes black is; “I’ve failed.”

Wow, where did the time go? I apologize that it has been since February since I have posted here. I had a lot going on in March and April. In March, I completed my Masters degree. I graduate May 8th and I am proud to say that I will graduate with a 4.0. It was not easy to do with working a full time job, writing, and making time for my family. I am proof that if you set your mind to accomplish something, it can be done.
I am still working on Retaliation. I am over half way done with the first draft. I do hope to have it out by July. It has been a slow process, because I want to make sure I give this story justice. This story will be totally different from my last series in the simple fact that it is geared toward adults. I mentioned before, that I want to write something for everyone. I love different genres and I want to write in a few different ones. Some people will say, "stick to one genre". I say why? I get that you don't want to lose readers, but if you are passionate about writing, the readers will be there. I truly love writing and bringing stories to life. If I could do this and nothing else, I would be content.
Look for an announcement soon about the cover reveal. I am excited to bring this story to my readers. As a thank you, here is another sneak peak from Retaliation. Enjoy!

Jules walked over to where a framed picture of Clara sat on his dresser. It had been taken at the ceremony ball, and he had made the photographer give him a copy. He picked up the photo and spoke to it, as if her were speaking to Clara herself. “I watched them bury your casket, yet, I was never given permission to see your body. If your still alive my sweet, I will find you, and I will remind you that you are mine.”
