Sydney Dunlap is a former elementary school teacher who has worked extensively with youth facing challenging circumstances, and she enjoys reading and writing heartfelt, hopeful books that explore tough topics not often addressed in middle grade literature. She is the author of the award-winning novels It Happened on Saturday and Racing the Clouds, as well as the forthcoming Both Sides of Greystone Drive. Her work has been featured on multiple state reading lists and in all-school/all-community read programs and has received a Crystal Kite, School Library Journal starred review, the Texas Institute of Letters Dierdre Siobhan FlynnBass Honor for Best Middle Grade Book, and several medals.
