Jaylin earned a bachelor’s degree in diversified studies with English emphasis. Of all the classes that she took in college, Creative Writing was her absolute favorite. Her career goal was to become an elementary school teacher. However, she ended up homeschooling both of her children through eighth grade, along with two other children. She also worked in insurance and worked at the library. Then she earned a paralegal degree and worked as a paralegal for almost two years until she was laid off from her job. The layoff was a blessing in disguise because it gave her an opportunity to go back to her love of writing. At the time of the layoff, she had been working on her first book for four years.
