Sometimes I have a hard time getting things to sound right, but I can always come back to them. I think the best tools I have for dealing with blockage are patience and an hourglass. I'm patient enough to come back to things later, when I've got them straight in my head, and if all else fails, I turn the hour glass. If I haven't figured out what to say by the time the sand has fallen, I'm done for the day. But there's always tomorrow. (less)

If I can get a little hippie-dippie for a moment, writing, especially writing fiction, is true spiritual and mental freedom. (less)

Pee time is me time

Sometimes I like to weigh myself before I pee, and then again after I done, to see if I weigh any less.

I never do, but it's fun to think about.

“made it impossible to see past the windows. It was like the world ended where the night began, as if infinity had overwhelmed itself and disappeared. Now I was calm in the face of the darkest night imaginable, free, able to go where I chose, and the feeling was exhilarating, not terrifying. The absence of anxiety was nearly joyous.”
Benjamin Mumford-Zisk, The Origami Man

“Artists can be dangerous, Samson, you know that. Hitler was an artist.”
