Return Home to Balance

The fun and adventures of travel, social events, and holidays are exciting to plan for and to enjoy. They help your child broaden his world of people, places, and learning experiences. Returning home and getting back into a routine of ordinary day-to-day life is usually a welcome relief after travel, holidays or events. Home sweet home. Once you return, if your baby...

All hands were on deck, including Elly’s dad, the photographer, a stylist, a baby wrangler, and i play., Inc. owner Becky Cannon. We followed Elly’s lead as she moved at her own rhythm. If she wanted a cookie, we gave her a cook...

The Story of the i play.® Swim Diaper

In 1982, Becky Cannon started her company, Family Clubhouse, which imported Japanese natural fiber diaper covers and sold them by mail order. Her customer base quickly grew, as a new group of parents wanted natural & safe materials against their baby’s skin, and saw the impact disposable diapers were having on the environment.

Two to three years later, I expanded to the garage and hired my housekeeper as my first employee.

After 13...

Other Family Members

People’s definitions of family vary widely and encompass many possibilities. The nuclear family, defined as a husband and wife living with their biological children, may be considered the standard, but it is not necessarily the norm. Family structures take many forms today.

Whatever the makeup of your family, these are the people who will bond with your child for life and help shape the person he becomes. Family members are more than a group of individuals. They make up an ecosystem—a living,...
