A crazy story at LNMIIT

Aah! LNMIIT is a functioning Bollywood.

There are too many stories that go on at this place.

Well there are too many to pick out from the closet of memory.

I'll tell you about this incident that happened at one of the DJ night.

My friend had crush on one of our junior. The one sided love went on for around three years. He tried really hard to  talk to her. Eye contact with her in mess would make his day. He even made her roommate his very good friend. But even that didn't work. He used to remember her after every peg of whiskey and every pint of beer. She always walked in his mind. We talked about her in room, on CP (central plaza), in lab, in library, in hostel gallery, on mess table, in SAC, on football stadium, in canteen, on those walks under the boulevards, while sitting at thadi, I'm searching for the corner where he didn't mention her. The love remained concealed for around 3 years softly buried under the cushions of time. Words failed to fly, and his heart throbbed harder for her.

Now comes the last DJ night of his college life. She was junior, she had one more year. I was drunk and he was too. Last days of college were special, we were trying to do whatever we could. How can the love stay behind?

So we were all dancing, and he came to me and said " Bhai, ek baar dance to kar hi lete hai". This was no surprise for me,  I was not in best of my consciousness. I asked him " Where is she?".

"I don't know." He made this Indian expression with his lips of not knowing things while dancing at some random step.

So we went on searching for her. Only LNMIITians will know about that stupid DJ night train that we make and run around the whole party. So we made a train of two, who cares about being called as stupid on the last DJ night. We ran, we danced, searching for hope, searching for love.

Finally in that rainbow lightning of DJ night, we found her. She was wearing white dress. And was dancing with her few friends, all girls.

So we stood near a fan there and then to avoid any suspicion we sat on the chair. They were dancing and  they can see us talking with each other, as it was not possible to listen what we were saying in that loud music. We stood at some distance near to them. I was constantly persuading him to go and ask her for dancing. But he never mustered courage for doing it. He said let's go back, but as we all know our stories don't end this way. So I told him" this is the last time, last chance."

I'm sure these words didn't inspire him at all because he already knew it.

So he said "Let's wait for the song to change and then we will enter their group, dancing." Now we stood there and waited for the next song, and as the song changed, we both went into their group madly dancing. We try to convince them it was completely normal for us. There was nothing sensational about it, we pretended. But you know things don't end the way we want them to be. It scared her and her friends. Even she silently knew he liked her, perhaps it was the smell of the alcohol that made them go away. But one girl stayed there and danced with us. Thanks to her for not making us look like stupids, although we were. Then we said her goodbye and we left. We left from there as nothing happened.

And after that what happens, some more laughs, some more secrets that we carry to our graves. Some more stories. And DJ plays" saathiya ye tune kya kia". Some more laughs and the journey of last DJ night continues, unfolding more embarrassments and  more stories.
