I’m a sucker for rock n’ roll memoir. I have read many rock memoirs and Head’s is one of the best so far, and weird unique because of the spiritual message that he conveyed through this book.

It started with his unhappy childhood. Then he played guitar and met the other Korn members, and they became huge and life was a blur after stardom. Booze, drugs, sex, violence and whatnot, Head was living a dangerous lifestyle and he was saved eventually.

He found God (or God found him), but old habits were hard to break. Drugs were always the big issue. He decided to leave Korn after he heard voices.

In the end, he surrendered to God and learned to walk with Him, followed whatever He wanted him to do.

I’m not a fan of religious book, but Save Me from Myself doesn’t feel like a religious book. I found this book through random browsing. I watched Head’s confessions about his faith after he left Korn on youtube. I forgot about it for long but suddenly the e-book popped up somewhere.

If you like spiritual book, maybe Save Me will strengthen your faith even though you’re not a fan of the band. I found it entertaining.

All that prideful, controlling religious crap is what drives young people away from churches, and it has to go.
