After the Book Launch
Hello, Goodreads friends!
I can’t thank you enough for all of your good cheer over these past six weeks as The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living has made it’s way out into the world. It has been a thrilling month and a half to say the least!
I’ve been having a wonderful time doing book events around New England. The City Baker’s Guide has taken me to the mountains of Vermont, to the top of a small town general store to the author-graffiti-ed staff bathroom of my favorite bookstore in the world. I’ve had the joy of reading to one hundred friends and the joy of reading to one gentleman named Henry who reminded me of my own character Henry that I never wanted the evening to end.
Here is a picture of Henry and me: https://www.instagram.com/p/BKWv5h0j7...
There have been many adventures and even more surprises, but I have to say the best part of this book publishing business has been all of you! It has been so much fun to talk to the folks who have attended the readings, and there is nothing better than reading the letters and tweets and messages I have received from readers. It’s such an honor to have people read the book, and every single note means the world to me. My heart is full.
Speaking of events, there are more to come! I’ll be in providence Rhode Island this Tuesday, September 20th reading with the Point Street reading Series with the wonderful authors Leigh Stein, Michelle Hoover, Paul Tremblay and Anne Korkeakivi.

In between events and making desserts I have freshened up my baking Tumblr, Louise the Baker. There are already many recipes on the blog (mostly cookies, because, you know, cookies) and I plan on sharing a new recipe every Sunday. I also reblog pictures that remind me of The City Baker’s Guide, as well as things I just find cheery, like pictures of baby goats. Here is a link:

I’m also working on a monthly newsletter called the City Baker Gazette. It will launch at the beginning of October. If you would like to sign up, click here: https://tinyletter.com/louisemiller
It will be a collection of book news, writing news, a City Baker-inspired recipe, playlists of music that inspired the novel, and more! I’m super excited about it!
Thanks again for all of your support of The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living, and of me! I am grateful to you all.
Fondly,
Louise
