Tell us about your story in Claiming My ValentineWhat is the title of your story?
Hearts, Flowers, & A Dead Husband

What is your story about?
Olivia Quincy’s dead husband is having a little difficulty letting go. His trusty faerie guide, Keegan, is at her wits end trying to make him realize the importance of helping Olivia move on. When Eliajah, the heir to the FaeShadow Court, sets his sights on Olivia, Adam is more determined than ever to keep his wife. With the future of Faes everywhere in the balance, Eliajah comes to terms with his destiny of being the next Shadow Court King and the importance of claiming his mate. But there are a few problems he must circumvent first. His mate doesn’t know who she really is and her mortal dead husband isn’t quiet ready to let her go.‘Till death do us part’, was only a suggestion, right?
Who is/are the main characters?
Eliajah Kheelan, Fae Prince and the next in line to rule the Shadow Court of the Fae. Olivia Quincy, a coffee/book shop owner struggling to move on with her life after her husband's passing. Adam Quincy, deceased husband of Olivia. Although Adam knows he should help Olivia move on, he can't seem to let her go. And, Keegan Pixie Faerie. Keegan is a friend of Sheridan's from the first volume of Touch of the Irish, and is there to help Adam help Olivia move on and find new love.

How did the story come to you?
I've had the idea for this story for some time. I thought it would be fun to write a story about the ghost husband helping his wife move on and find new love, but isn't all that helpful when he doesn't like any of the men she dates and plays tricks on them. Hearts, Flowers, & A Dead Husband didn't come out as comical as I'd hoped, but that was mainly due to the word count constraints of this anthology. I might go back at some point and lengthen the story, but I'm very pleased with what I have now.

Did you have to research for this novel. If so, why and what did you learn?
Yes, I did have research for this one. The Celtic pantheon is complex and I wanted to work in some new gods and goddesses in this volume of Touch of the Irish. Hearts, Flowers, & A Dead Husband is the first book in a four book volume of Touch of the Irish volume 2; The Lost Princesses. I was able to use quite a bit of my research from volume 1 but with new characters and new situations I was able to bring a lot more of the pantheon into the book. I think readers will like the twists and connections to the Celtic gods.

Do you relate to your character? Is your protagonist anything like you personally?
I'd like to think Olivia and I are alike, but really I think she is her own person. If I had to pick a single trait we have in common, I'd have to say we are both determined in everything.

What made you write this character; what made them important to you or made you want to tell their story?
As with all of my characters who end up in a story, Olivia came to me in a dream and told me about herself. Soon after, Adam did and then Eliajah, and of course Keegan has been with for a couple of years. She really wanted to be in Touch of the Irish Volume 1, but there really wasn't a place for her in any of the stories. She did make it on to the video though. haha

Is there anything specific you want readers to know about this piece of work?
Yes! Hearts, Flowers, & A Dead Husband will kick off not only Touch of the Irish Volume 2, but Olivia's Coffee/Book Shop is going to play an important role in the upcoming series Breeds MC. Someone very special to Bear will end up as the new owner.

MEET MY CHARACTER
(Choose one character from your story to spotlight)
What is your name?
Adam Quincy
What are you? (Fae, shifter (kind), vampire, etc…)
I’m a ghost
What should we know about you?
Although I am dead, I'm not finished living. My love for Olivia can and will bring me back. I have to believe that our love is strong enough to survive even death. What is your personal goal?  I mean, what do you ultimately want?I want my life and my wife back. What conflict(s) do you face?I’m dead, for one. Another obstacle is this Fae Prince, Eliajah, who can see me and has power over me. He has prevented several of my attempts to run him off. Are there any secondary characters we should keep our eyes on? Who are they? How are they connected with you?Be on the lookout for Keegan to pop up in a story or two. There is also Olivia's best friend Liz, who you'll need to keep a close eye on. She isn't exact who or what you think she is. Ciaus will no doubt be back, too. Will we see you in upcoming stories? If so, what is the title/series and when?In a manner of speaking, I will be back. I can't say anymore than that at this time. Be sure to catch Olivia, Eliajah, Keegan, Aine, Morrigan, and all the rest in the continuing Erotic Fantasy Touch of the Irish, Volume 2: The Lost Princesses.

What is the title of you submission in the anthology again?Hearts, Flowers, & A Dead Husband
