Starting April 9, ‘Letter from Alabama’ joins in celebrating National Library Week. The theme is ‘Libraries Transform,' and that's certainly what happened to this boy. The branch library in my hometown was within walking / biking distance of my house. There I found the words that opened up the world to me. After the 2015 publication of my memoir of uncommon grace, a family’s love, and a startling letter – I gave copies to libraries in towns where the events in the book occurred. Thank you to librarians who share the world. For more about Library Week:
