Fake Fiancée by
Ilsa Madden-MillsMy rating:
5 of 5 starsI've been trying to figure something out.
To be honest, it took most of the book to pinpoint exactly what's been niggling me but I think I've finally nailed it. You see, while reading Ilsa Madden-Mills' novel, Fake Fiancée, I found myself inadvertent smiling, even sighing like a goddamn fool. It's kinda like going to the movies and sneaking a peek at the rows behind you just to catch the looks on the audience's faces. You know, the one's they don't want you to see while they're living vicariously through the main characters.
Yeah, that was me while reading this book.
So, why the dreamy expression? Why the swoon-like tendencies? I acted like a love-struck teen for eff's sake and I'm never like that. Ever. I blame the two main characters, Max and Sunny, they were just so ... nice. But not in an I-want-to-stab-you-in-the-eye-with-a-tooth-pick kind of way. They weren't perfect, Max was a hothead while Sunny refused to trust easily, and both had a shit-ton of baggage. However, their burgeoning relationship was truly beautiful.
Doesn't mean I want to scribble love hearts in my notebook or anything, but I definitely want to read more from this author.
