My parents would hit me till I begged them to stop.
At school the kids would make fun of me nonstop.
My very own parents said I was too stupid to learn.
The world was against me at every turn.
My fight to survive was ongoing.
With each hit and mean word my strength was growing.
My determination to be someone great was getting strong.
From a very young age I set out to prove the world wrong.

Don’t ever let anyone take your self-confidence down to zero.
