Victory lap. Sept. 10
So I work at Disney World. And most of the time, I stay late and close the attraction after all the guests have left. Well, there is a position called Greeter and after the attraction has closed, whoever is at Greeter is supposed to run down through the queue, making sure there are no guests and also to tell the cast members working inside the attraction to start to last show of the night…all the guests have been cleared..the only ones left being the ones left in the theater.
I say all this to share this story: I was closing Greeter last night and I did my little run through the queue. It was the end of the night. The attraction was closed. And my shift was ending. To me, spiraling down the hallways and dashing past ropes and stations…I couldn't help but think…this is a victory lap! I raise my hands as I get to the workers inside the attraction. It is finished! The last show has started!! This is the last work of the night!!
What is your victory lap? What is something you need to celebrate?
It is a tradition that every time I finish a book - and hold the paperback copy in my hand for the first time - my husband treats me to a dessert of my choice. I have eaten Chili's molten cake dessert…moist chocolate cookies…and flavored cupcakes from our favorite bakery as celebratory desserts!
I have enjoyed my victory lap!
I'm like you. Once I finish one "race", I am on to the next. But let' s remember to celebrate the small victories on the way to big ones! Because *every* finished race is one worth applauding!!
If you have any prayer requests, let me know. I would love to pray for you!
