Second Chance Romance

The posts of the next few weeks will be based on second chances or new beginnings. Spring is a time of such things and new blooming romances. First up will be Caroline’s Heart where Caroline and Lucky get a new chance at happiness. The second book Mad About her where Darice and Chloe go for a second chance.

The third book will be a continuing look at Caroline and Lucky to see how their new beginning is progressing. The fourth book Blood for her where I’ll take a second look at Chloe and Darice.

These posts will spotlight beginning of the relationships, the problems and challenges of the relationships and how they work despite the differences in the women’s philosophies and upbringings. I’ll be giving away for copies of each book during the month.

Caroline and Lucky are two odd characters to be brought together in that Lucky was raised or one could even say trained in military schools. She didn’t have a parent guiding or ordering her life which left her free to do as she pleased most of the time.

Caroline on the other hand was very suppressed and weighed down by her family’s sense of right, wrong, duty, and obligation. Coming from a family of politicians where every move and decision could be put under a microscope, judged and found wanting, Caroline was always told she had to appear perfect. She had to live the creed her family believed in so as not to be a problem.

It’s hard to imagine that kind of life especially if you haven’t been subject to it on some level. Even families who don’t live in a limelight often have such rigid rules and expectations of their children and have been known to attempt to control their lives.

For Caroline, it’s been a hard road walking the line between the woman she ought to be and the woman she truly was. She did it as best she could and grappled with herself as she suppressed her true desires until Lucky. Now, the fight for self and real happiness begins. Caroline has to determine for herself if she’s really up to the challenge.

I selected the title based on this exact premise because Caroline can live her heart, or she can continue to live someone else’s truths.
