Goodreads Choice Awards Finalists 2025

Cat

Okay, I am having an emergency with my cat. He needs a temporary home with some noble, caring person who has no other cats already. I'll need someone to watch him for about four months, and then I will have him sent to China to be with me.

Is there anyone, anyone at all, who is interested? Keep in mind that the cat is all the way down in Florida.

Natalie Ugh, I'm so sorry about Ellis. I'd take him back again - really, I would - except that my landlord busted me with Scully, and I had to beg and plead to keep her, and now I have to pay a $250 non-refundable pet fee, and somehow come up with $250 that I flat out don't have by the time my rent is due.

Poor Ellis. He just can't get along with anyone except the humans in his vicinity. He really is a good cat.
