Day 9 - Meet Tristan
Hello Goodreads folks!
For the ten days leading up to my February 1 release of TAERYN: THE AWAKENING, I will be sharing info about the characters, some trivia, and even a few surprises.
Countdown Day 9 - Meet Tristan
Excerpt:
It seemed like he kept trying not to hurt people, but in the end he always did. Tristan sighed, blinking away tears. Now Taeryn didn't trust either of them.
Damn it!
This pain, it was exactly why he had only focused on lust for so long. He couldn't take it. She opened up the window to his emotions and then Wham! everything came flooding in.
The door knocked and then opened as Taeryn entered without waiting for a reply. Her eyes were as puffy as his felt. He stood to face her as she opened her shield and invited him to do the same. He was hesitant, but when he did, he knew without a doubt that their love was true. But how could she trust him? How would they get through this?
He took her hand and led her to the sofa. They communicated wordlessly, their energy merging, testing the waters. Just joining with her this way calmed his soul. It wasn't until that moment that he realized just how much a part of him she had become. He felt her love for him, but also her fear that he would continue to hurt her, despite not meaning to do so.
Kat's preferred method of communication had always been telepathy, speaking her thoughts in his head, reading the people around her. Taeryn seemed to prefer to share her emotions, to show him how she felt rather than tell him. He saw her affection for him, her disappointment in how they'd both responded to recent events. She cherished their bond as much as he did.
