Day 8 - Meet Kat

For the ten days leading up to my February 1 release of TAERYN: THE AWAKENING, I will be sharing info about the characters, some trivia, and even a few surprises.
Countdown Day 8 - Meet Kat
Excerpt:
Director Kat Russo stopped mid-sentence and turned her head as Taeryn and Tristan walked into the soundstage. They were two hours late coming back from lunch, but if Tristan was right, it was well worth the time.
She fought her impulse to listen, since Taeryn had asked her not to, but it was hard. She'd done it her whole life, reading people was second nature to her. But she would try to restrain herself, at least for now.
Despite her pride in being a woman of steel, someone who kept her emotions to herself, Kat felt vulnerable around this young woman. Her heart palpitated wildly as she looked at
Taeryn, and at the most beautiful aura she had ever seen.
Tristan thought it was just infatuation, but this wasn't like being attracted to someone's looks. Rather than being skin deep, an aura originated at the core, giving those able to see it a view of the soul. And Taeryn's aura exuded strength, purity, and love like she'd never seen before.
It had always just been her and Tristan. Now Taeryn knew about them. Well, at least about their gifts. They had never shared that with anyone on Earth. And they had never been interested in the same woman.
Kat sighed. How could she compete with Tristan's charisma, and with their crazy empathic connection? Besides, Taeryn didn't seem to be interested in girls.
Her instincts took over, and she entered Taeryn's mind. Taeryn was still trying to process the knowledge that she and Tristan were empathic, and that Kat was telepathic. She watched Taeryn pull up her shield.
Boy, will she be pissed when she learns that it doesn't block telepathy.
