Day 7 - Meet Richard
Hello Goodreads folks!
For the ten days leading up to my February 1 release of TAERYN: THE AWAKENING, I will be sharing info about the characters, some trivia, and even a few surprises.

Excerpt:
"You're obviously a well-trained medic, Richard. I'm sorry they turned you into my babysitter."
"Are you kidding, Taeryn? When Tristan called, saying he needed my help, I came back to life. My training kicked in, and I was ready to go. It woke me from my self-imposed stupor. Being needed, the rescue. But then I found out it was you and saw what bad shape you were in, and it crushed me."
"You saved me, Richard, you were amazing. Why did you leave the fire department to become a studio paramedic?"
"I grew up knowing I wanted to be a firefighter," Richard explained, "and when I finally made that dream happen, I decided to specialize as a paramedic. I loved the work, even though it was often heartbreaking. Helping people who needed it drove me; every time I saved a life, it helped keep me going through the times I couldn't.
"There was one family I visited regularly; they had a little boy named Zach who had a progressive and debilitating illness. After he died, I lost my calling. I couldn't focus on the job and decided to call it quits."
He gave a sarcastic smile. "And that's how I came to be here, tending paper cuts and broken fingernails.”

This story is a different kind of SciFi-Romance. Steamy, yes, but it's also deeply emotional and deals with serious topics. Plus empathy & telepathy, transcending human potential, and of course an invasion by cruel aliens. All taking place on an exotic movie set!
