I don't want to write a blog particularly, but thought I should make clear that all my early yachting books were published commercially under my real name - John Mellor.

I chose theSailor as a nom-de-plume for more creative work so as to prevent my own persona from intruding into the story. I hope that doesn't sound too pretentious, but I do feel that while my personal background in a particular field is relevant to an instruction manual, it is not so for an imagined story. That should stand alone.
