GOOD BAD GIRL

Dear Readers,

My new novel GOOD BAD GIRL arrives in the U.S. next week, and I’m excited for readers to meet the characters and try to solve the mystery that connects them.

GOOD BAD GIRL is a story about four women, three suspects, two murders, and one victim. It takes place on Mother’s Day, but I wrote it for daughters. Relationships between mothers and daughters are complex and unique. Whether good, or bad, it is a relationship that cannot fail to shape us. I’ve always had a cast of strong women in my life, and this was a story I knew I had to write.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a pushchair, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth. Frankie is a prison librarian struggling to come to terms with losing her daughter. She makes an appointment to see a counsellor called Clio. Clio’s mother, Edith, has moved into a care home and isn’t at all happy about it. Patience works at the care home and has a special relationship with Edith.

Books can be mirrors and we don’t always like what we see. I want to take readers on a different kind of ride with this book, and I want them to know that they are not alone. History has a bad habit of repeating itself in families, and children sometimes inherit their parents’ mistakes. I like to believe that love always wins in the end, and that history doesn’t have to repeat itself if we choose not to let it.

Writers are nothing without readers and I have the best. Huge thanks to everyone who has preordered the book, I'm so grateful. Thank you for all your support, your beautiful pictures of the books on social media (I love seeing them), and the kind reviews. I hope you enjoy GOOD BAD GIRL.

Best wishes,

Alice Feeney

Dr. Jasmine Dear Alice,

thank you for telling us about your new book. Your words really spoke to me! The relationships between mothers and daughters, or mothers and sons for this matter, could be either nurturing, or downright destructive. I have seen this so often, in the course of my career as a family doctor; and am unveiling a number of societal taboos of that kind in the book on mental health that I am currently writing.

A good writer is an artist, right, Alice? And its our job to help people hold the mirror next to their faces :o)

Have a great day!

Dr Jasmine
