Hi D. I totally agree and have tried to write all my books like you, the conflict, issue, problem is resolved even if there is room left for more stories.

I don’t mind cliff hangers, as long as the main story has been resolved and it’s part of a ‘big story’ series. (If everything is tied up too nicely, I rarely read the next book because I don’t want to ‘ruin’ the lovely ending.) But... if an author writes a hugely popular series (especially one that gains even more attention after a hit TV adaptation) and then abruptly stops writing the series after say... book five - only to go on and write numerous other books and spin-offs without ever resolving the original series or its cliff hanger... that would really annoy me.
