Flown the Coop

I’ve recently come to a mile­stone in my life—I’m an empty nester. I’m forty-three and my kids have aban­doned me. Okay, yes, I’m happy they’re in col­lege and doing well. Even though it’s sum­mer and they should be home, stay­ing up too late and eat­ing me out of house and home. Instead, they’re being pro­duc­tive and get­ting edu­cated. The nerve, right?
