BLUFF is officially launched!

Trumpets please! BLUFF is now official. This is its coming out party, so to speak. And I’m so thrilled that the moment is finally here.

I often compare writing a book to having a baby. The conception, gestation and birth differ for each and every one. But I have to say, what makes this particular birth  so spectacular is that it’s my first novel, and it’s been a long time coming.

The conception itself was easy, but the child bearing was long and cumbersome. I found myself gripped with fear, much like a new mother-to-be, about whether the novel would be OK and would stand the test of time. Of course, I worried constantly about my own capabilities as well.

There were also the so-called experts, who like negative minded medical professionals, wondered aloud if the book would ever see the light of day. I can’t tell you how many times I heard, in so many different variations, how hard it is to birth a great novel. There wasn’t much hope among those in the traditional publishing arena that BLUFF would ever make it to print.

But experts are often wrong. And there’s no stopping the birthing process once it’s in full swing.

And leads us to right here. My only son, my only child, actually gave this book its name. In so many ways, they are a lot alike. I swell with pride and love as both of them are showered with the distinction and praise, and gazed upon with the tender eyes that only an only child can claim.

(But I am pretty sure this baby is going to have a sibling.)

This is how I feel today!
