Release Date (Sneak Peek)

To all of the amazing Goodreads members who have added my book or are interested in reading it,

To start, I would like to thank you all for your support of my first book. I really cannot wait for you all to read it and I am so excited to hear your feedback and comments. Retribution is finished and will be available on Barnes and Noble as a Nook book, on Amazon as an eBook and a paperback, as well as through CreateSpace and Smashwords.

Now for the not so good news.

Although the book is finished, due to some potential conflicts with my place of work, I have opted to release the book after the academic school year lets out and summer break has begun. The conflict I am concerned about would be with the target audience of Retribution being new adult and the students I mentor being young adult. The official release date will be June 18th! Now I know this seems like a long wait so to help keep you all interested in the book and maintain your support moving forward, I wanted to post one of my favorite parts of the book from Regan’s point of view. I hope you all enjoy!

“Want to dance?” Max asked me.
“Absolutely!” I responded.
We walked out to the dance floor and danced along with everyone else to bad 80’s music and college favorites. I was having such a blast and I didn’t need not one babysitter to look after me. We hadn’t been dancing that long when in through the door walks Colter and his sidekick Kaiden.
“Oh you have got to be kidding me?” I said loudly in exasperation.
I was having trouble monitoring my voice volume apparently. Max followed my eyes toward the door and his face fell.
“Do you want me to take care of them?” Max asked me.
I didn’t answer. I marched right over to them, probably feeling brave from the alcohol, and stumbled right in front of them. Max followed and Colter reached out to keep me from falling on my face.
“Don’t… touch me Colter!” I yelled in his face. “You have no right to touch me.”
I must have slurred my words since Colter and Kaiden exchanged a look. Colter’s brows drew together in a concerned look causing worry lines to etch into his forehead.
“Regan, why don’t you come walk it off with us,” Kaiden suggested.
“Exactly, I’m Regan, not Meg,” I said, knowing I wasn’t making any sense. “And oh no, I refuse to go back to that house, especially with you two. I’ll stay here with Max,” I said, placing my hand on Max’s chest in what I hoped was a flirtatious way, but in all honesty was just me using him to keep my balance.
Max probably assumed that I meant I wasn’t going to let the boys walk me back to my dorm.
“Look fellas, I know she has had a few drinks, so she is more than welcome to stay here tonight. I’ll sleep down on the couch. You two though, should probably leave,” Max said pointedly.
Thanks Max!
I really didn’t want to see their faces. They shocked the shit out of me when they turned to walk out the door. A triumphant grin slapped its way onto my face as I slipped off of my high heel and lost my balance. Max caught me, just as Colt turned around to look at me once more before he left. Max had his hand curled around my waist and I was relying heavily on him to remain standing. I saw Colt eye how close Max and I were in that moment and he took in every point that we touched. I gave him a run-along-now smile and his face completely changed then.
“That’s it!” Colter shouted.
He walked over to me and Max, picked me up, and threw me over his shoulder.
