Synergy

Synergy is, by definition, unexpected. For example, without prior knowledge of the entire cycle, nothing about a caterpillar predicts a butterfly. The world is full of other examples of things happening that can't be predicted with current knowledge of the components.

I believe that synergy exists on a human scale as well. Its the reason that in training educators I make sure to tell them that, one, they can't predict how the children under their care will turn out, and, two, they almost certainly will say or do something in their interactions with their students that will impact that child in completely unexpected ways.

Of course, the same thing is true of parents and their children.

Things, and people, come together and unexpected things happen. Sometimes these things are remarkable, and serve as a caution to those of us who concentrate on the negative aspects of life. The news would have us believe that every day is crammed with nasty shit happening everywhere we look.

All that means is that the good, positive, renewing stuff is difficult to squeeze into a sound byte and doesn't sell advertising.

Its there, if we choose to attend to it. I know that believing that the world is all rainbows and bunnies is not realistic, but so is believing that it is all tornadoes and wolverines.

Balance, balance.

On the brink of the unknown - as always

Here we go.
