I was just looking at the books I've rated on Goodreads. They almost all have 5 stars. This is not me just being nice. I am actually a very picky reader. I just don't read books I don't like. If I've started one and it's tortuous, I don't finish it. And if I don't finish it, I don't feel like I should rate it. But, I can't remember the last book I even started that I didn't like. Even books that I've been a beta reader for lately have been magical. I love stories that take me to another place and let me see life, live life, through someone else's eyes. Sometimes books are so poorly written, they don't do that. Or so "overly written" that I'm distracted by the writing. Do you know what I mean? I just want to be carried away. And the books on my list that have 5 stars have done just that. Now, my mom did raise me to not say anything, unless I had something nice to say. So, if you see that I've recently read a book, and perhaps not left a rating, you are free to make assumptions.
